Default Which main shaft to use for a FBL conversion

Hi all I’m looking into converting my 500 ESP FB to a FBL machine!! After flying my new 500Pro it was clear to me that FBL is the ONLY way to go I love it! I have the main rotor housing (H50148) a 3GX unit, PRO Metal Main Rotor Holder Arm (H50152)
I just need the 500PRO Metal Main Rotor Holder (H50150). I also have a 500PRO Main Shaft (the one with fixed collar H50156) is the correct one to use? Or do I need 500FL Main Shaft (H50133)

With that head you use the standard ESP main shaft

I haven't tested this so you will know better Deet

The DFC upgrade is compatible with 500e, esp and pro (requires grips and collar shims for e and esp)

So one would assume the collar to bottom jesus bolt length on all those helis are basically the same.

If so why could you not use the pro main shaft in the ESP if converting to FBL using the EFL Pro head?

because the old collar is a better system

shims suck, but its a lot cheaper to build the kit that way, so Align gets to make more $$$

I can appreciate the benefits of using the standard E/ESP shaft, especial.ly if you have a metal swash ARB and want to remove the main shaft. With Pro and DFC shafts (fixed collar) you need to pull the swash out with the shaft. which is a pain if you cant bent the ARB back (when using metal one not plastic)

shims will always compromise the bearing performance

I guess there have been tests on this to show the one shim I am using will blow out my bearing quicker than the adjustable collar only?

I still have a personal preference where I enjoy the one piece main shaft & might be the minority on that
