Default Home Made Canopies

Just wanted to share what I made tonight. I started with the PDFs here:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...paper+canopies

Then customized them for myself in Photoshop. Printed on HP 45 wt glossy photo paper. I'll share these if anyone is interested.

haha I know right! Thanks, Johnny! I just started with this recently, but I have to say, using photo paper makes all the difference! But I also noticed, that at least with my printer, using a lot of black ink will dull the finish on the paper.

Looks awesome. I've been using paper canopies for the past year-- they work great. Can you post your pdf files?

Default More paper canopies

Here's a link to some more paper canopies. They've been out for awhile but are some pretty cool designs.

Holy awesome Batman!!

Those are impressive!

[EDIT] What is the weight difference between one of these and the stock canopy?

I have not actually measured them but I suspect they are close-- I print mine on fairly heavy glossy photo paper. They could be a tad heavier, but not enough to be significant-- heck, I'm flying with 850 and 900mah packs and the bird handles just fine vs. the 650s (and that *is* a lot of weight difference).

They are very durable and look great-- I've even ditched the "rugged" V120D02S canopy for the paper ones.

Weight is really depending on the sort paper. I made an extremely light canopy for my moth (extra short 4G6), which was much much lighter than the stock canopy. Printing on 160gr photopaper will make the canopy heavier than stock.
