Default msr tilts to the left then crashes

I have a MSR that I am trying to fly with a Dx6i.

When I give it power, it tilts to the left then crashes. I can't figure out what is out of balance.

Where do I start? There is nothing obviously out of place or balance.

Thanks.

Do the servos both move?

Try spooling up on a very slippery surface: does the heli try to spin before it tips over?

The slight left tilt is common among flybar heli's...give a slight right ALE as you lift off, and it should be fine

If it's more than slight, check to make sure the pin is in the swash guide

There is also a lot of ground effect when the heli is near the ground. Try to get it up a couple feet quickly. Don

I would adjust my links to the swash on mine. For instance if it was leaning to left I adjusted the left link out a full turn and tried it until I got it level. Like Don said though you have to get them in the air quick to get out of the ground effect. I messed with mine a lot to get them were I wanted them to be. Even my 450 and 360 I bring them up to speed then pop them up to get them into a nice hover. Also make sure none of your links are bent.

If you are giving it full power and it is going to the left, make sure you are moving the throttle stick straight up. You also may need a mix to alleviate that

MIX 1
RUD > ELE
32% 39%

MIX 2
ELE > AIL
-10% -25%

Use FMode for the switch.

Also worth checking to make sure the main gear is properly seated, and that there is no play in the main shaft. Should be lots of play in all of the links, with no binding, and the blades should be just loose enough so they 'flop' when the heli is tilted sideways. Also worth taking a close look to make sure there's no bend in the flybar.

After a hard crash, and a quick look over, one of my mSRs seemed okay until I popped it up and discovered major TBE. It took a closer look to spot the bent servo push rod and flybar. My other mSR is flyable, but needs a lot of trim as the main gear is no longer seating properly and you can wiggle the main shaft.

Both helis have taken many, many hard crashes after I recently got back into the hobby. That's the worst of the damage both have suffered, but I've had some other minor issues that were fixed without any replacement parts, after a close look over once I knew what to look for (ex: one of mSRs had rubber grommets on the blade grip ball links, where no grommets should be and which caused very erratic flight ... popped off the links, took of the grommets, and problem solved).

I found this video very helpful for diagnosing and maintaining my mSRs:
