Thanks for the update. The DFC Fusion looked nice. If your conversion goes well, I may be doing mine too :-)

not worth the risk.. and kinda a downgrade being the Outrage FBL head is one of the best.
clearance... man you are cutting it close.. the stock head is already a low rider..

Well, I like a challenge + I've got enough spares to build another Fusion so if she goes out, it will only be for a day or so & it's back up and running

@CeeveeSiN:
That's kind of why I started this thread... My idea of FBL head is a bit different. I'd call the Outrage head "universal", not FBL. If we had the option to get rid of the damn swash driver, we wouldn't have a reason to think of different options. Same goes for my Mini Protos - stock head is ok, full blown FBL hub is just better in so many ways. Align isn't the most popular brand in my house too, but it's an option at least

it takes less than 2 secs to align and then you dont worry about it till you crash.. the head is flat out one of the best FBL heads on the market for function and material. Hey I would never ever fly an Align head on any of my helis except my Align.. and even that one has a KDE head on it. and in the past my Aligns wore Outrage FBL heads as they were a flat upgrade. But its your heli..

I like the simpler design like this mod brings, where phasing issues are non existent by design, not by setup. The Outrage head quality is superb, I never said anything against that. This is not about quality, but rather possible design improvement Why not try and simplify things? If you don't like Align, we're on the same page. Compass sure isn't that bad.

it's a great idea..
incorporating the swash driver into the grip links eliminates unnecessary parts (if it works)

however... they designed theirs differently and the flaw isnt on them.. the flaw is only in the Align copy.

Well boys, got the grips today but had a hectic day at work so no tinkering tonight. Providing i get an early one from work tomorrow i should complete this mod & be ready to test it on Thur. Right now ive seen some serious couple of flights (over several days at my club) on the DFC head in a 600Pro & a 700e & i have no doubt that there is no issue with this align design even though its a copy of the Compass setup, the only thing i have reservations about is the height of my conversion but hey, NO BALLS NO GLORY eh?
So LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

I am thinking that a lot of ppl would crash and have to rebuild the head before metal fatigue set in or move on to bigger/better helis so it is a moot point anyway. I have not hear any crash related to metal fatigue with the Align DFC beside the original report that caused Align to release a "patch" to their DFC head, have you heard of any?

Three words boys, OH...MY..GOD! without altering anything in my Tx, i reset the MBeast point J to get 6deg (which before i was getting blue light at about 5.5deg & now i get it at 6.5deg but i left it at 6deg anyway ):, i then reset my 13deg+/- collective pitch & off i went to the park.banana:
Took her up in normal (2000rpm) & moved it around a bit & the first thing i realised is that it flew more precise than before, i then switched to idle1, flipped it inverted & punched it up. It went up in a straight line in the blink of an eye. Did a couple forward flips, backwards flips, rainbows & tail down horizontal punch outs & i am very very impressed with this upgrade so far, very fast & precise, a very crisp feeling Fusion . Tomorrow i have the day off so i shall take her down to the club & abuse her Here are a few more pics of the finished item, i'll see if someone at the field can catch the flight on my iphone for me.

If you are noticing that much of a difference you must have just had your phasing poorly setup on your outrage head.

Thanks for the report. Looks nice. My friend has been telling me that the DFC head would make the cyclic control a lot quicker and more precise. I think I will do mine soon
I noticed that the threads on the plastic link side is very long comparing to the stock T-600 setup, did you have to do any modification for it (I assume the Fusion mainshaft is longer than the T-600 shaft)

It was not I don't think. The blade disk is now so much lower than the original set up so cyclic control is so much crisper and faster.

I had the same experience, although not as extreme with my Mini Protos when I lowered the head. It's much faster faster on cyclic just due to the vertical shift of CG. seemore74: Congrats, keep the news coming!

I would be careful about lowering it too much after the issues the goblin was having woth boom strikes.
