Found One - Hitec Aurora 9

The Aurora seems to be in low supply, but I managed to finally get a hold of one. My impressions after 24 hours can be summed up in one word - BRILLIANT! The Aurora embodies what a radio should be......powerful, intuitive, and flexible. Props to Hitec for taking the Apple approach to design and creating something no one else has and making it ridiculosly easy to use. The backlit touch screen is huge and easy to read. Assignable switches, and "Flight Conditions" provide a powerful means to tailor the radio to the way YOU fly. It will be interesting to see how the on-board telemetry features evolve over time. I believe the RX only reports flight pack voltage as of now. The value-add features are amazing considering the price for this radio.....72MHz compatibiliy (module needed), bearing supported gimbals, etc.

The programming architecture is well thought-out, and it's revolutionary nature should not be overlooked. I'm anxious to see how it feels during flight!

Got mine from Fast Lad and love it
5min on programming for the protos cause of the touchscreen
Much better than a dx7 and Futaba t8 or 10

I also very much love aurora 9 Tx but one thing i am in doubt is that why hitech engineers donot apply MI (magnetic induction ) technology for joystick volumes.. Since traditional potentiometer (variable resistor) at joystick volumes wear out so fast when we use so often.
I see MI servo at hobbyking so why not for the Tx..

...and what radio manufacturer do you know of that actually uses mi instead of classic pots? Seriously, I can't even find one, just curious if one even exists. I've seen some used in servo's but am unaware of mi being used in any radio.

I would just like to alert consumers and also motivate manufacturer to recosider.this
technology for the next version. My costly japanese radio Tx used to cause my heli crash due to warn out potentiometer volume at joystick besides it is too costly to send
it back to japan. I would rather buy a new one.
If hitech used this MI technique, wouldnot it be terrific that it can be run for good.
In fact , MI technique has aready been being exist for many many years already..
