You have to be kidding me. Who is going to spend $93.95 for a battery tray?

KDE, always ready to bring you crap you don't need at ridiculous prices. At least in this case it is a real improvement for the heli, but come on, we are paying for that guy's new boat.

Very sharp in deed, but too pricey. I have 2 plastic trays, they aren't hard to swap out. I just CAed in the nuts so they can't fall out and got some thumb screws from Lowes. Although, I normally don't even bother pulling the tray, the batteries come off just fine without removing the tray.

It's the price we pay for a product which is designed and built in the USA... not China. It is expensive, no doubt... but what useless crap are you talking about? All of their products are pretty useful... the heads are great, bearing-blocks well designed, anti-tako device works...

It is certainly expensive and more on the blingy side of KDE products, but I think it’s a good part.... a few of us here requested it from them, and they delivered.

I'm sure they will be releasing an FBL head for the Fusion in the near future... most likely a one piece design with so phasing adjustment.

I like the improvements it brings (increased space for larger packs, frame stiffening, and a quick battery change system with thumb screws). I was sold up until I saw that the frame needs to be cut.

Three major Fusion crashes this summer. My canopies are looking ragged, but the Heli is flying great. This tray looks AWESOME in concept, but I'd be much happier with 3 notches less quality with same functionality for 50% less cost.

I'm sorry, was that too vague for you? KDE drastically overcharges for their products. From this, to the ridiculous $125 receiver mount for the 700, and The $88 tail control "upgrade" for the Logo, all are drastically overpriced.

Clear enough for you?

You want "Made in AMERICA" you gotta pay for it...

You can always wait a few months and get one of the butter-metal clones that will surely be put to market.

I don't mind the KDE prices, compared to MicroHeli aluminum parts, KDE is far superior and worth the extra coin... although I still won't get this particular upgrade since I don't care for larger batts....

The two big concerns i have are 1) the metal landing skid mounts will break your frames in a crash (I really liked the stock plastic mounts for this reason). 2) bending up the $100 battery plate in a crash.

This upgrade can add some serious costs to a typical crash.

Sorry you are unhappy with the prices, we try our best to keep them minimal for the end-consumer, but we don't cut any corners on material, machining, or quality. I prefer to design the product as best I can, spend the money building prototypes and testing it before release, and then get it to the market. For sure, it costs much more money doing it this way, but then the Team and I can be proud of the product when it's out there on our customer's helicopters. We create the upgrades for our own helicopters, so these are designs we want to be proud of as well and it makes the hobby much more enjoyable.

We are not a mass-production facility with overseas manufacturing and cheap-labor. Everything we manufacture is built in-house with our own equipment in the U.S. with quality materials and finishing, so for sure, we can't compete in the price-war game with overseas companies. I know KDE Direct is not for everyone, but we do our best to deliver the best quality we can.

Rest assured, I can promise you I don't have a new boat - although, it rains so much here in the Pacific Northwest, I should have a row-boat just to move around my backyard...ha

No problem here, sure there is a bit of "Sticker Shock", but this hobby is expensive. I feel comfortable buying the setup and extra tray, if it make things easier, then it is worth it.

Have you crash tested the kit?...

I bought one. All heli's are designed to fly not crash and I'm sure the landing strut will let go first cause of the added frame rigidity and landing gear are cheap
