Great looking design! I've not made a Paper Canopy yet but I'd like to give this one a try for sure.

Thanks and I look forward to giving it a shot!!

OK, here are the Full MCPx Goblin Templates as promised.

I'd like to give a special thanks to all those who started the MCPx Paper Canopy Designs (TDR) and shared all those beautiful patterns. If I hadn't been introduced to making the TDR paper canopy (here on Helifreak) I probably never wouldh've progressed to this point of achieving the Goblin Design and wouldn't be able to share what you are now getting.

So, once again thanks to everyone who shared in making this possible.

Please do me the favor and post a couple pics of your MCPx Goblin Canopy once you're done... I'd love to see it!

Oh, I further intend on posting a number of pics yet that will explain the tape(s) and procedure I use to get the results you see in my finished canopy.

For those who can't wait anymore.... Here's the file!

Good job!

Do you care if I Photoshop this to make it less "pixely"? Maybe a little more defined too?

Sure, print it, then use scissors to cut it out, glue it and fly.

Remember to leave some "ears" for the glue to stick if you use "Elmer's" or any other paper glue. If you don't have photo paper, you can spray it with a lacquer that does not dissolve printer ink, just spray it light and it will be shiny.

This might be a stupid question but is everything sized correctly so it won't need any adjustments in print setup?

If you can make it better by Photoshoping it... Be my guest and thanks for asking.

I will be posting some pics with instructions tomorrow that will help some of you understand better how to assemble this and what to use. It really isn't hard but following a few suggestions should yield you a better results.

I printed a couple sheets on my printer at home and the size came out right on. So, unless something changes this , it should be correct. I'll give a reference dimension tomorrow so it can be use for verifying.

Just finished up a test run on the canopy, it's just a bit small for 550mah batteries pushed all the way forward. I wish I could figure out how to make (print) the canopy just a little bit larger. It will still works fine, but it's sits about 1/4 inch forward of the canopy mounts on a stock frame. Still very cool looking.

Depends on how you print the picture, if you left click and print, you can change your printer's DPI settings. Probably the most convenient method is to reduce the canvas size of the picture in MS Paint. Just make sure to reduce both, height and width by an equal percentage, else it will get stretched. You can also try to print directly from MS Paint, I think it preserves the actual pixel size most of the time.

Is it possible to import a PDF into MS paint? I'm a rookie at this computer stuff.

This will be quite complex, someone probably has a better way, like resizing the DPI of your printer, which you can do in your printer configuration window.

Here it goes:

Open the PDF, press the "print screen" button on your keyboard, open MS-Paint, and click [Ctrl + V], this should do the trick.

The PDF containing the Goblin canopy is quite huge, you will need to copy and paste it twice. If the screenshot does not fit in the MS Paint, resize canvas to your screen resolution.

You can copy and paste the bits and pieces of that picture to fit in a smaller window.

Give me a minute and I will upload a BMP picture that MS-Paint can readily digest.

This is the Goblin paper canopy at 300 DPI on a 8.5x11 inch (letter), I'm guessing it will be way too small for real-life mCPx.

If your printer does not care about DPI settings, which I think is getting pretty common with new "user friendly" stuff, you will simply have to keep resizing the image size in MS Paint (Image -> attributes) until it comes out correctly.

For those with printer that have DPI settings, I will resize this image (probably tomorrow, because it's late) to correctly match my real mCPx at 300 DPI when printed from MS Paint.

Edit: The max image size on HeliFreak will not let me upload an image big enough, I zipped the BMP.
