Default Triabolo 800. What Tail Blades?

Anyone tried something different than the stock NHP 130's? Toasted mine and am just curious what the options are.

Scott

Consider the RJX that HD carries. Also the 130mm MsComposites.

Scott, did you get the skid spacers in your kit? Here is a pic of mine I just took.

I am running ms composit ones on my Diabolo and like them. Considered them. Might try the rjx tails. Ms composit is pricey.

As for the block. Nope. Sure didn't.

I toasted a set of 130s too in a less than perfect landing. The tail fin is just too short for these blades and regardless of the blocks they can touch the ground if the heli leanes back. For now I screwed a big futaba servo wheel in the tip of the tail fin and this keeps the blades at a safe distance to the ground

That's a good idea because you are right the tail fun is short when it comes to these blades. I guess any way of making an extension to the tail fin would help. Will look into that. Ordered up another set of NHP 130's yesterday. I know they are long but loved the way the heli flew with them and don't want to mess with that.

The NHP's flew extremely well. I was actually quite surprised at how well the cheaper RJX's performed. Best to have a couple sets handy to cover the bases anyways.

Totally agree. Need to get an extra set so I am not down if this happens again.

Yeah, where I fly the surface in the landing pad at the field is pretty rough. Two guys yesterday already tore up brand new CF tail blades in just their first outings. It was nasty windy and both guys tagged their tails on lift offs. Puff of heavy dust and you immediately heard the tail tone changes.

Yep that's why I went away from carbon tails on my Goblin 500's and flew KBDD tails instead. If they hit the ground it didn't usually destroy them and if it did they are cheap. And at my level of flying I could not see a difference. A friend of mine who flies very hard flew one and said it was great. He felt the tail was a little soft but it did well. Said maybe down the road I would need to switch but then again maybe not if I am not trying to be the smack 3D pilot of the year.
