How far away can you go with that setup before you lose rx or video connection? I'm still trying to get my head around FPV and don't know anything about video antennas, transmitters...etc.

Tommy

Tommy RX or video connection is not problem. I use Long Range system by Thomas Scherrer. I can fly further than 20 km on it. Video will works for about 5 - 10 km.
The problem is battery. I use Turnigy 5000mAh.
My record this heli is 4046 m . I think I will able fly for 5 km and I'm going to do this
About your question of video antennas, transmitters... You have to read, read and read :-)
Try find forum of FPV and read. This is mine of information :-)
Regards

Had me on the edge of my seat watching that. You were HIGH and far away. Three things that kept going through my mind while watching was.......
1. Why would anyone clear cut the top of a mountain? Erosion etc.
2. IF the heli went down is there a GPS coordinate you could use to find it?
3. I wonder if 3D FPV is far off?

Horoshai Rabota!!

With an osd that givel long and lat, and if you ground record, you can use your smat phone to walk withing a few yards of it.

3d with fpv is being done. They say the advantage is your controls are always tail in due to your view.
These are exceptionly skilled pilots who learned by hard knocks. Not for the weak of heart.

Hi guys !
I'm sorry I didn't give you answer earlier, but I was on holiday, very far from my computer and I wasn't access to helifreak.
Now I'm back at home and I will give you all answers
So I will start from beginning:

fbarcenas I have standard Align power set-up:

Motor: Align BL 500L with 13T pinion
ESC: RCE-BL100G 100A
Battery: Turnigy 5000mAh 40C
Everything works on 6S

One important thing yet. I have Spektrum DX8 and my throtlle curve looks:
1) 65%, 2) 60%, 3) 55%, 4) 60%, 5) 70%
Of course I use asymmetrical spin blades 620 mm.

2. I have a small TV, witch records all flights at all times. If the heli falls far from me that I was able to find him, he will coordinate the GPS shows me where he lies.
I lost my heli twice, about 2 km away from me. I've always been able to find it.

1 and 3 questions... I don't exactly understand your questions? Could you explain me what you mean?

Default Awesome!

Are those both 600e's, and one newer than the other?

Kosmo,

Wife has told me I can never fly Ultralite or small airplane. So, your video is great. I showed my wife this video and said "this guy is in a lawn chair with video glasses". Makes you think you are up there with Helicopter. Something I want to do in a few years as I learn to fly smaller Helicopters.

Thanks and was great to watch all 11 minutes.
