Wall Charger Voltage for the DX7 9522 not consistent!

Could someone else check this one out. My charger, the one that comes with the DX7, voltage varies. The plug prongs are not polarized with one prong bigger than the other. If I plug into the wall outlet one way I get 8 volts. If I plug in the opposite way to the wall outlet, by turn it 90 deg. I get 10 volts. That should not be. If anyone has a multi tester please check this one out. The wire I'm testing is the output for the TX.
The reason I was fooling around with this and checking was b/c my TX was acting funny last weekend and I'm looking at all the possible things. This may be it. Thanks

My charger does the same thing.
"normal orientation" 9.117v
inverted 9.997v

Very odd.

But my charger seems to be working fine, also depending on the logic in the charger we may not be seeing actual charging voltage. Or it may be just like a normal wall wart that is just a stepdown transformer and rectifier circuit.

Although I haven't actually checked that charger, it is probably a constant current charger. So, depending on the battery voltage, the charger's output voltage will vary. Of course, if it is not a constant current charger and just a simple power supply - then "never mind" ...

Not sure what kind of charger it is. It is strange to me that plugged in one way I get almost a two volt difference as opposed to the other.

If I get a chance tonight, I'll test the charger and determine if it's a 'constant current' charger.

Finally got a chance to check out the charger. It is NOT a constant current charger. As it is not a precision device, I expect that the voltages will vary slightly from charger to charger.
