This story shows how dangerous heli's can be and why we shouldn't fly them in public parks. In this case a persons stupidity caused the heli hit to an innocent bystander.

Yeah were you not aware that a bunch of users on here banded together and donated a lot of money to help the young lady? The situation has been taken care of. It's a blight on the history of the hobby and still frankly, a little disturbing to some of us.

You need to move. Only possible solution.

Some people take the chicken and get lots of it and freeze it because they live far away, but they are mental. It's got to be eaten right away or you might as well buy grocery store chicken.

I'm new around here and to RC helis in general. Have a link to a thread where this was discussed? Love hearing about communities helping out folks like this.

Just look at the ridiculous number. I can't believe we raised so much money. It's not the first time and it won't be the last either. Back when I was a little worse off than I am now, my dog broke his leg, and I was going to sell all my toys including gifts I had gotten for my kids... the community basically refused to accept this, and people donated small amounts to me over a few weeks, and I was able to pay my bills and keep my RC stuff. It's the power of a crowd - really great to watch in action. I am always happy to give back what I can to the community that came through for me, and for many others, when random things happened. Here's the link to the record of that... hard for me to read that even today...

Default hit to the face ouch.

i am a novice to this new and exciting hobby. i have a blade 400 and crashed it and then modified it. i could not set it up right so i had he shop get it calibrated. in the mean time i thought i would go buy a blade SR blue.
well o could not get the simulator to work right so i decided what the heck ill just let hover a couple of inches indoors. no harm could happen right? WRONG.
well holding it at a couple of inches off the floor created some kind of wind trap im sure some of you out there know the trem and the heli flipped backwards right into my face. i had to bad cuts to my upper and lower lip. i was luck. i could have lost my eyes or worse my balls....lol....

I've looked at every page of this thread so far. It's really made me second guess my plans to move up from my little Cx3 co-ax into the world of CP. I don't think I could live with myself if one of my kids got hurt due to some freak accident. I am VERY new to the world of RC heli's, and I never realized how much damage they can cause. I will definitely treat them with much more respect after seeing some of these pics.

It's no different from cars, stoves, knives, lawn-darts and whatever else kids play with these days. Modern folks aren't familiar with dangerous toys, but I used to get hurt by my toys all the time. Ever pinch your finger in a tricycle? Of course not - because it's impossible with modern tricycles. The best you can do is run over yourself.
