Exclamation Huricanne 200 skids on my Blade 120SR

Hi I'm new member:

I'm interested in installing the Huricanne 200 skids on my Blade 120SR. Looks like I have to use a spacer between the frame and skids. Where can I get the spacers in order to use this skids on my 120? I have the Rakonheli Main Frame.

I'll appreciate your advice!

Welcome! I used the stock skids and cut them at the insert. They do have a thin metal rod that goes through them, so I used CA to bond them to the 200 skids instead of screws.

Man this is pretty damn clever.

Any hints on the specs or the where they could be gots of the springs?

Also if you could give us any info on the screws that would be really helpful too.

The screws are a #4 x 3/4" stainless pan head. Everyone recommends an M3 screw, but i couldn't find any metric stuff that small without ordering it. The #4 is ~2.9mm and works fine. That's a standard rubber o-ring between the screw head and the skid, .25" OD, .125" ID.

I wish I could provide some good info on the springs, but they were left over from some long forgotten project. They have a .25" ID, and are about .6" long uncompressed.

I used the blue things that came with the align landing gear kit as bump stops. Without those in there, the skids would contact the drive gears on a hard crash. They compress fairly easily, but not enough to allow contact.

I had a pretty gnarly crash this morning onto hard packed dirt, and the only damage was one of the skids got slightly bent, so it seems to work.

Looks really cool in the air. Wish my camera didn't distort colors so bad looks gray / white in the photo

Various CNC Rkh head upgrades (blade grips, rotor hub, anti-rotation and collar) as well as CF vertical and horizontal tail fins. CF Rkh frame, CNC tail motor mount etc. Some mods converted back to stock due to damage or negative flight charecteristics (Rkh skids are crap). Stock skids mod (save servos!), bearing keeper mod. Getting ready to upgrade canopy and swashplate..

Liftbag, your modified 120SR can't be beat. It's really nice. I think your 120SR is worth about $300-$400 now!! I once prided my customization skills, but there is no way I can match your skills . Exellent job sir .

Can anyone tell me if a TREX 250 or E325 canopy will fit the 120SR?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot.

Beyond the aesthetic side, the sum of all the most important mods has allowed me to fly as you can see in this video.

Sorry, I don't know if the trex 250 canopy will fit the 120SR.

I slid my 250 canopy over my 120 and it would fit with a bit of trimming and new holes drilled but it is a lot heavier...

Default Clear canopy mod

Clear canopy mod made from stock canopy packaging. Used epoxy to glue each side together. Got the idea from someone else who had done this in the Msr thread.

A section of shrink-wrap tubing works well to hold the bearing on with the advantage of protecting the tail rotor wiring at the same time.

easier to just use a piece of thread, one knot on prop side of bearing, then tie the other end to the connector, or motor mount. Simple, cheap, lightweight, and works.

Went separate on the electronics. Have a BL motor from the hbk3...xtreme blades... and ds75 servos running on 7.2v. need to find a better tail motor/tail rotor combo though...stock works but gets ultra hot...any ideas?

Default Main Motor Heat Sinks 120sr

I bought some heat sinks for the main motor of my 120sr. I used Zalman ZM-RHS1 VGA RAM Heat Sinks. They have self sticking thermal tape and fit nicely on the motor. They come 8 to a pack and you only need two. My motor used to get really hot in just one 5 minute flight. After installing them, the motor was just warm to the touch after a 5 minute flight. Here is a good place to buy them: http://www.frys.com/product/5591560

Default Failed skid mod

I tried a set of skids from a walkera 180. They looked awesome on the 120 but at 15gr were too heavy for it. back to the stockers lol.
