So then based on what you have said, is there any reason we can not have vibration analysis on the brain? I find this an essential time saving feature and promised myself I would not fly a unit without this. Just don't have the time to replace every bearing when things start acting up. If the Brain will at least eventually get this feature I will buy one now. :-) |

He or MSH?
If it is not MSH then the discussion should continue on a different thread. I think will be more fair. |

EDIT: Looks like I'm probably wrong - that switch is for toggling the AUX channel on a plane. In a heli, the AUX channel is used by the pitch servo via CCPM. |

The only way would be if the tail gain can be locked in the Brain sofware, then use that channel on the DX6 to toggle between flight mode, of course there will be only two mode available.
This is how that work with SK-720 for self leveling when using a 6ch radio.

I thought the filters were on the gyros not the accelerometers?

So as stated, vibe analysis is impossible, hence the proposal for a stand alone device

I have a Scorpion Commander V Opto on the bench ready to go into my next build, has the Brain governor been tested with this ESC? The Scorp has a phase sensor built into it, am curious if this combo works well. I know Bert has used/tested this ESC in the past, just wondering if anybody has tied it into the Brain yet...
If so, I'm likely gonna click that button! Tom M |

Hello,
I know I had a few modifications asked by Bert because of Scoprion ESCs, I don't know if he used gov though ... Thomas. |

I've read from a vendor that it could be October.

Seriously? Might have to grab a Vbar in the meantime then... That's annoying.

Thomas, I have one of the pre-order units coming from the Australian MSH agent as soon as they get it and I have a few of quick questions after looking at the setup software.
I didn't see any calibration step for the Brain to see the cyclic resolution, i.e. the 6 degree for BeastX and 8 degree for Vbar, did I miss it or doesn't it need this step? Is the self level speed of returning to level dependent on the max rotation rate like with the Skookum. e.g. it will return to upright faster if you have the Extreme 3D profile vs the Sport profile. Does the pitch expo work like pitch pump in that the speed of the stick movement, not just its position relative to neutral makes a difference, if not do you have a pitch pump function? What is the difference between Agility and rotational speed you setup for cyclic, if I equate it to the Vbar, Agility is the rotational speed setting, on the Brain does it make the heli more sensitive around neutral like the reverse Expo or does it do something else? In the demo software it looks like the gains for elevator and aileron are setup differently by default, is this intended in the profiles of just a bug in demo mode? Thanks for all your effort and also for answering questions here, looking forward to testing this against my Skookum, BeastX and Vbars. //Dennis.

However in high end futaba radios you have pitch acceleration (equivalent of pitch pumping) that you still can use with the unit. Quote:
In the BRAIN, agility is a new parameter : - the less agility, the more the helicopter feels locked - the more agility, the more the helicopter feels natural Basically, low agility = more robotic feeling, high agility = more flybar feeling. Quote:
Hope this helps ! Thomas. |

Couple of questions:
1) does anyone know the dimensions of the unit ? 2) Do you have to use pitch precomp and tail precomp ?? what if you leave them unchecked 3) the throttle endpoints --- wont this mess up the esc throttle calibration ? 4) what size heli do you choose for a 550 ? there is no option.. i assume 600 ? |

Ok, so in that case Agility is more like Style on the Vbar, might be worth thinking of a different name to avoid confusion. I am sure I will have some more questions when I get hold of a unit and set it up on my //Dennis.
