Here it is, fully assembled and ready for flight. At least the pilot can read his instrument panel and see how badly I am flying it, lol. Floats are on the way and now to work out how to install the Bambi bucket on the next one. Take care.

Wow.
I am starting to get the scale bug.
Symptoms....looking at vidoes of scale helis on you tube and not 3D, checking out Vario and Roban sites etc, reading the scale sub forum, wanting to do a long slow build.....
Thanks for the pics.

A small video from the final version. It was raining that day so we have used an old factory hall.

Heli-Baby NT Indoor Flight (3 min 8 sec)

For the historians: In this hall the turrets of the Tiger tanks were produced in WW2. Today it is part of a local museum that shows peaceful exhibits.

Thanks. I am using a 3300mAH 6s pack plus a 2550mah 2s pack for the electronics but I will eventually remove the second pack as I convert this system back to a single battery. The electronics were pulled out of my CH-139 in Florida and installed to get mine up in the air. Take care.

Gerd:

Thanks for that video post. Chuck showed me that video when I was at the Port St. Lucie Heli Smackdown a couple of weeks ago. I have flown in a similar style factory in Toronto, Ontario. I love the sounds that are made by the blades as they remind me of the warm up ramp around an airport with the sounds made by turbo-prop aircraft. Take care.

GensAce 6s4400/30C, good for 14 minutes of mixed flight style. Controller is a Hobbywing 50A V3. Also I recommend here a telemetry, otherwise very difficult to calculate the remaining battery content.

Watching that video is like seeing an old friend.

I had many, many flights on the original HeliBaby several decades ago.

@Keyrigger - Don, Could the Heli Baby be used to compete in sport scale at the US NATS?

I don't think so. It has elements (a bit of a stretch, lol) of the Bell 47, Schweizer S300, and Alouette series helicopters but is not really close to one specific model that you could use it in a sport scale competition. If that changes, there will be a big WOO-HOO from up here, lol. Take care.
