I don't know if this is the right place or maybe someone will move it to the right place.
but I have been searching all over and cant find a answer.

does anyone run these servo's at 8v or off of a 2s lipo?
will they handle 8v and how long will they survive?

thanks ddj74.
it does say 2 lipo but it also says 7.4v.
isn't a 2s lipo 8.4 fully charged?
what I am trying to figure out is where to set my bec voltage on the kosmic.
7.4 or 8v????

It will handle 8.4 all day. I have those exact same servos I run off 2s fully charged straight no reg or bec.

I will bump my voltage up then.

I have a set as well and I just play with the voltage to adjust the feel. Most people don't do that, but I like fine tuning. For example I have my Kosmik set to 7.7v on one machine and 7v on the other.

I don't like the straight 2s option, as the voltage and therefore performance changes throughout the flight.

+1. I have them on my 7HV and power them direct via an Rx pack... 8.4 volts when fully charged... No problem at all.

The main thing with the buffer pack is to have its voltage at or below the set BEC voltage before connecting. If you are using a 2s LiPo that is going to be between 7.5 and 8v. I would caution going much below 7.5 (3.75v/cell) because this is below what you would normally discharge your pack. Depending upon who you talk to the 'storage' charge for a LiPo is anywhere between 3.7~3.85v/cell.

If you want to run a lower voltage on the Kosmik, then I would suggest a LiFe (once again check your voltages- you don't want too much voltage going back into the pack).

If you don't want to ever be concerned with the voltage settings matching up with the buffer pack, get one of these- http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/opti...l-p-27906.html (coming to the USA soon)

I have been running mine at 8.1V on a BEC. They are running great.

I run all my MKS HV brushless servos off a 2s lipo which start at 8.4V. That's what they're designed to run at. They work at low voltage, but perform better at high voltage.

What info do you need? These servo's are pretty much the same as Torq servo's. MKS makes Torq servo's.

Try the company's website:

http://www.mksservosusa.com/notify-U...9tL2hvbWUucGhw

yes, they will run on 8.4V no problem. The 7.4V "rating" is for a 2S Lipo at nominal voltage or 3.7V per cell. The older servos with a 6.0V rating were based on NiMh/NiCd chemistries using either a 4-cell, 4.8V (5.2V full charge) or 5-cell, 6.0V (6.5V full charge). That's also why when LiFe's became popular they (2S LiFe) would run regular 6V servos no problem because they would drop off almost immediately from 6.6V and be within normal tolerances.

As a side note, I think it would be really difficult to tell the difference in a single flight that the voltage was dropping on the RX pack. Your settings will impact it a lot more IMO, but that's not to say that some people can't tell. The buffer pack is a good idea to make sure you still have control of the machine in case anything happens, but it's not justifiable on performance perks alone. Again, that's just my opinion from looking at the numbers and personally experimenting. different strokes for different folks I suppose?

looks like as long as I set my bec voltage in the kosmic between 7.4 to 8.4
then I should be good to go...
