Default DX8 Signal Loss

Hi, I was flying a 40" foamie the other day with a spektrum dsm2 receiver. the one with the 1 inch antenna on each side of receiver. It lost signal, power shut off, and flew itself into the ground. around this field there were ham radio towers and a cell phone tower. It is off of a busy road so cops going by a decent amount. maybe their radar? not sure. what do you guys think? there are other reports (many) of signal loss issues at this field but they have all been with dx7s only. no reports of signal loss with any radio other than that one. all my planes with the longer antenna receivers seem fine like the sport cub. and my goblin 700 with 2 dsmx sats off ikon. not sure if its just coincidence when its fine or what. what do you guys think? should i go futaba or just use longer antenna receivers?

How was it during low power/range check?
You say Rx with short antennas and DSM2. AR6100?

Range test was fine. Ar6200. Could it B cell towers/ham radio towers/ or cops driving by w radar on. It's a small highway right next to field. Clear view no trees. Prob around 1000 yards

It could be a focused or intermittent source of 2.4 that is flooding one or both of the 2 channels being used by DSM2. Probably a good situation to use DSMX only. It would probably be a good location to use telemetry and/or keep a close eye on the Flightlog data
to see a potential RF problem before its a huge issue.
Some 6200s would connect without using a remote. They were designed to use one though.Without a remote they are kind of considered a parkflyer range Rx without the added signal diversity. At 1000ft your kind of nearing the useful range of a single antenna Rx. The 6200 also doesnt support FL data. Telemetry is definitely the way to go. Theres always also the possibility of a weak BEC causing a power related issue.Loose or dirty connector or a failing servo. Having the data gives a clear picture where the problem is. Ive found that running telemetry Ive been warned more than once of a developing problem. Both Rx voltage related and RF related. Total loss of control failures dont generally just happen all at once.
You get alot of warning beforehand if you Monitor the data and set alarms. And it clearly points you in the right direction for diagnosing a developing problem before you have a complete failure.

The signal loss happened with 100 feet. Right near me. I don't seem to have a
Problem w dsmx receivers that have long antennas or 700 w 2 dsmx sats. Thank god
