Default Just like old times with some extras

Im back baby. Picked up a 2012 tdr with about 40 flights on it.
It appears to be built well and looked after.

Got it rtf with jr servos, bls tail,
Radix v2 710mm mains, vbar blue pro, helijive, pyro 700 motor. Has fusono and orig canopy.

Im going to sell the fusono canopy, jr servos (im a futaba man) and the pyro 700 motor (unless cant get reasonable price ill keep it)

Ill be fitting bls351 cyclic servos, checking over main bolts (spindle/shafts/tail bolts), give her a nice clean and lube.
Im ordered jans x brace and fitting a 4530 500kv le motor from scorpion.

Ordered new gens ace 12s 5000mah lipos.

Ill fit a 15t pinion so max rpm goverened around 1950rpm with 14deg pitch.

I want it to be my speed trainer and lower headspeed machine.

Also aqquired my old diabolo but thats another story.

The cream is that ive got a jans speed canopy coming and going to airbrush her like my old tdr only candy pink i think hahaha

This should hold me through until jans new machine is released (im under no 20) mmmmm

Ill post pics along the way as it
Comes to life

Welcome back man! I've been checked out of the forum for a while but I see a lot of the guys that were here in '12 are still around.

Nothing like a TDR and I guess that's what keeps us glued to this forum!

Also snagged a brand new tdr kit! The owner only started building frames.

Im going to pull here apart and put it in a time capsule! It shall be my retirement plan lol

Can anyone tell me the 2nd stage gear backlash was excessive i put a new gear in and still the same. So ive filed the screw holes for upper and lower bearing blocks to make it tighter.

Does the 2nd stage gear expand like the 1st stage??

Second stage gear mesh should be spot on when you build the frames and shaft as per manual. Finish the drive train first and then you can check it, never seen any of the kits to have a problem there.
