Default TRex 450 tail servo

I just finish rebuilding my trex 450 after a stupid indoor crash that cost me 12 stitches on 3 fingers. I finally got it airborne and was pretty confortable with it. doing pattern small aeros. But yesterday, I applied full rudder for 5 sec so the chopper spinned and when I applied opposite rudder to stop the rotation, the heli keeped spinning in the wrong direction. I managed to crash on a small piece of grass. Anyway I was using this http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6314
servo on the tail.

I call my local Hobby Shop and the guy told me that this servo is garbage and that I need a .06-.07 sec tail servo.
Here's my config:
Trex450 SE V2
Telebee GR302-AD Gyro http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8471
ESC: HobbyWing Pentium 40A http://cgi.ebay.com/Hobbywing-Pentiu...d=p3286.c0.m14
I've seen a lot of servo that looks ok but I wanna make sure I get the right one. I dont want to go in the tooo expensive stuff.
Thx guys

The new sport kit comes with a DS420 servo for the tail, I have seen Bert Kammerer tear the field up with that combo...

Default Me too...

I want to know if there is a good digital tail servo that operates at 6v or some way to step down the stock align 35 esc for the rudder servo only. I have been checking into the S9257, but I like hitec, and the S9257 only operates at 4.8v. Any suggestions? It will be going on a GY-520 gyro, a trex 450, 2.4ghz radio.

Futaba 9650 or 9257. I bought the gears for the 9650 to converted it into a 9257. Used to be what everyone swore by on here when I joined and I've never looked back.

yes it will I am using a 9650 with the gy401 clone gyro.
and it holds great. very happy with it.
and the the servo works on 6v with out the need for a step down.
when it comes to the tail servo buy cheap and youll regret it.

the 9650 is
SPEED: .14 sec/60° @ 4.8VSPEED: .11 sec/60° @ 6V
kinda slow ain't it?

+1 on cheap is more expensive in the end.

I was looking at the ds420 myself to replace my Logitech 3100, but it was recommended to go with the ds520; some say the 420 is not enough for hard flights on a 450. They both run at 6V.
I went with the DS520 and it rocks. It rarely gets warm and combined with increased head speed it has been the end to all of my tail worries.

Compared to what? And can you really tell the difference?

All depends on what you want to spend I guess, but all I can say is that the 9650 (now with the 9257 gears) has never let me down and runs at 6v.

You need to take torque into account as well. If it is slower, does it have more torque? If so, you can run a longer stroke on the servo that will greatly increase your speed.

Hitec HSG-5084MG
Faster and more torque than the S9257, no issues on 6V.
