First 550 (HK550FBL). Really excited to start the build. I still need to order some batteries and Align parts. Waiting on the rest of my elec, a canopy and some other stuff to arrive
(I already have the servos, Rx pack and the ESC)

Servo came out of the beastx causing an uncontrollable roll that I couldn't save. Have checked servo gears and they are all fine

Always a shame to see a heli like that.. Did you have hot glue on the plugs?

Hot glue on the plugs? I've never heard of that. Interesting tho and now I'm curious.

I do this on all my helis. Never had an issue. I do one line across all the plugs. It holds them in place and it still peels off when it has to.

Does the 600 canopy require any modification to fit? Is this an old 600 canopy or the new 600 Pro canopy?

Yes you definitely need to modify the new 600 pro canopy...
*Drill new holes
*remove bottom lip with a dremel type tool
*Install bottom clip

If you're interested i can post pics of just the canopy this evening.

I was thinking that was a standard 600 canopy but I'd still be interested to see. Is the size significantly larger than the 550 DFC canopy?

It's an efl pro canopy... I used the word "new" as an identifier to your original question.
No it's not bigger ... It's actually the same shell as the 550dfc. Whenever you are shopping for canopies just look under 600 efl pro or 600 pro.
