Hope everybody's 2015 turns out to be all you hope for!

Mine certainly is shaping up to be an excellent one!
My son is now stationed at Colo. Springs. Just checked in today. My g/daughter just loves to fish, can't get enough of it. She wants me to teach her to fly fish. She certainly came to the right place.

+1 happy new year everyone.

Got to keep it short as I'm on my iPhone. My laptop gotta virus and deleted my user account, plus the guest account I setup to get in to the administrators account through the back door is also not working!!! Gonna get someone to look at it, but will probably take a week or two.

Still not flown yet, either been freezing/hungover or to wet and windy, but I got the car tomorrow morning and forecast is looking good!

How do you manage to see what's goin on at that time?

I went over to a lit parking lot, but w/everything covered in snow and cloud covered skys it doesn't really get too dark. I went last night too to test the Vortex Egov. Night before I slapped on the 350 asyemmetrical Spin blades to feel them out and see what aprox HS to run on the FPV ship. They do fly really nice at a low HS aprox 2100-2300 range.

Ahh, I understand! Finally got to try mine today, but for some reason the tail isn't holding. Spins CW when I lift off. Think the gov calibration has gone alright, so will check my 3dh setup again.

Set up the tail in rate mode then re-adjust setup E (tail end points) a gain of 25-30% in rate should hold fine to get your TPS in the proper spot.

to clarify rate gain light G or same light your gain is in HH mode.

Realised the problem now, following earlier instructions in the setup manual, I'd disabled my gyro switch! So gain light A was showing which is only 0% HH mode. All I did was check I had a blue light, and thought I was good to go. Once I reactived the gyro switch, the correct lights were showing again.

Given it a quick test and it feels ok with cyclic and tail holding/stopping. So ready to move onto next step of timing some flights with 85% gov setting,, and check those ESC timing/PWM settings.

Would be wise to watch what I'm putting back in on a couple of packs first!

Just glad to have it field ready at last! Just need some wheels now!

Well I did those tweaks to the esc settings and I did notice a slight difference. That being a slightly smoother sound, whilst blades were under load. Maybe the battery was a bit cooler and showed about 2% extra on the battery monitor. The esc and motor were both very cool but I did have the canopy off. If anything, the stock settings left a tiny amount of residual heat in the motor bell. So can agree those settings do seem to maximise efficiency
