Yeah, Kindle Fire-style. Say, if VBar doesn't work on Fire, let me know!

For perspective, my main heli at the moment is still a little guy, mCP X.

I read this all the time -

"Most crashes look worse than they are"

and it sounds like a lie, but I REALLY want to believe it!

Lies I have said,

"I'm not that good."

"I don't know everything."

"I don't troll on HF because what's the fun in that?"

This is a good one, A person buys a new helicopter and within a month or two they are already looking at other potential helicopters. (except they always say i am done with this helicopter it is my last one) Example I just bought a 700 f3c but now i am really really strongly considering getting a goblin once the bugs are worked out and i can find spare parts. There is something about that little lean mean green flying machine that I just have to have one. LOL

How about thinking it's a lie?

Four years ago when I started this hobby Slyster told me I would easily spend five grand before I knew it. I rotfalmao at that since an entire RTF HBFP only cost me $99.00 to get started. So it must have been a lie right?

Then about eighteen months later I reached the 5 grand mark.

Yeah, I remember going to a little LHS, and the guy showing a CP Pro saying, "and after you've flown this for a while, you'll be ready for this TRex 450..." I thought, "WHAT? as if I'm going to buy one after the other! And that TRex is ungodly expensive!"

Granted, I have taken my time buying, and have tried to earn my toys, but my Logo 600 and I still think this is pretty funny.

I bought all these expensive upgrades because the other parts were stock and they cause crashes.
I got into this hobby sep 2011. My Amex year end statement showed $37,445 in heli ready and heli direct. How bad actually is this?

Nico I think you may have been able to buy a real helicopter for that much

Those bling parts really make the heli fly better.

Not all pilots can discern the difference.

'I noticed a massive difference from x brand to y brand'

Admittedly this is often true but also, very often it is utter...... I think people only notice a difference with many of the things because of the placebo effect and trying to justify the extra money spent.

This is a very common reason for crashing. Am I missing something?

Cheers!

I went into the LHS and watch one of the employees flying a heli on the sim doing 3d. he let me try and I was able to do tic tocs and all sort of other 3d stuff. he asked if I had ever flown before I told him it was my first time, he didn't believe me until I tried to hover and land.

this is exactly how I convinced my wife to let me buy my first heli. needless to say I have bought another car to work on and I still have my other car in the garage doing an engine swap. and she thought I would quit.
