What did you do with your Banshee today
I did a few hard flights at 2050 settings seemed good so cranked it up to 2300 it was moving along well had a few weird issues with it pitching up and down on some quick passes so will need to try some changes to see if I can get rid of that. I'm using 1850 for slow 3D, then 2050 for hard pitchy 3D and 2300 for some fast big air. Doin rainbows with 16 degrees at 2300rpm are insane

Ordered some 713 Speed blades for my Banshee today.
Still tweaking my speed settings on my TDR, but will soon transfer them over to the Banshee and take her for a 2300 rpm spin to see what she feels like

With the weight of those blades it makes me concerned at 2300 rpm, how are they running the 2500RPM safely?

I just swopped the 22T pinion for the 24T pinion. Kicking headspeeds up to 2100RPM today. Freaking out but excited! Will revert back later! Time for the Banshee to spread her wings

The speed blades are factory rated for 2600 rpm, so as long as the Banshee's half shafts stay in place it should be fine.

What did you do with your Banshee today
I wasnt concerned about blades more so the heli itself.
I guess if you do this best to balance it all 100% |

I probably should balance the entire tail assembly as well. Currently my Radix 105mm tail blades are good to 0.01grams, but I'm thinking of going to lighter Rotortech 105 blades or Rail 96mm tail blades.

I use the Rail 96mm tails at high speed and have no issues...

My set came out of the first batch and one blade was not straight; there was a bow of approx. 0.7mm in the middle...The non alignment was visually very noticeable holding the 2 blades edges to edges.
Balance and CG was spot on tough I wonder if the second batch will be better regarding straightness Regards, Belgo |

Damn its quite in this side of the section...are no banshee flying??
Well I installed the 24T pinion...headspeed up at 2080..coming from 1880 I wont lie but there is not much of a difference in speed other than the mad sound. I lost 2min flight time which brought me down to 4:30...great but I wanted more flight time...so back to 1900 Rpm for me. Its quite the suite spot.

Yes same here, the sound is out of this world, (with CF canopy) but the increase in performance are not that much, also will keep flying at 1100, 1700, 1960 and the speed bank at 2100 just for the sound!! 1960rpm is really nice and just for interest sake 1100 is nice to do slow flips and ultra quiet flying.....

Yes I fully agree with your statement above...I flew the banshee at 1500 RPM doing soft 3D (well the bit that I can do) and it was really nice. Do you really think the CF canopy makes such a difference to the sound...I'll have to try that to see for my self however the yellow and orange colours just look sooo damn good in the sky! Banshee si going out for some flying eta 2 hours, so I'm pretty excited Keep well and take care

What did you do with your Banshee today
I flew mine today and now changing to 24t to go supersonic on 14s and 500kv.
Also swapping servos for the new futaba 22kg .06sec and an x8 tail servo. X713s will arrive in 2 days also |

I'm preparing to increase head speed and pitch today along with a few configuration changes based on what I learned from my TDR speed tuning. Charging batteries now.

Shoe horned the x8 tail servo in it!
It really doesnt want to fit due to the horn and spline, but it can work. Tested today with 24T and 500KV motor on 14S, heli started to slow sometimes at 2200RPM, i think poor lipos hitting lvc as was well overgeared. Ive now gone to a 22T pinion, im probably maxing out at 2300RPM but want 2400RPM for speed so i think the 22 is best balance of everything (low/high rpm and speed rpm) |
