Man, I really need to stop! I decided to go ahead and get some hitec 55mg's. Figured, why not get those instead of the stock ones. I continue to break those mounting tabs. Think this will be my 3rd time...I must stop tightening them to much!

I also went to digital MG servos about a year ago. It is a worthy upgrade. On mine it took some fabbing since the servos were thicker. On the back one in particular since I am using a CF body the lower mounting hole leaves very little gyro tab meat left. Shoot, while writing this I just figured out that I should have notched the body instead of trimming the tab!

Soooo....I didn't heed my own advise and stopped!
I now have an entire Skytec assembly from gears to flybar cap...and it wouldn't have been possible without Sven, owner of Heli Deluxe: http://helideluxe2010.ecrater.com/category.php. Sven, thanks and I'll be posting details on your exemplary service...it was an aboslute pleasure doing busines with you. I just couldn't resist the precision after receiving the swash a couple weeks back. oh, I asked Sven this in an email, but I'll throw it out here too...with a skytec swash, what swashtogrip links to you use? From pics I've seen it looked like stock? Which of course I don't have and will need to wait on. I just realized I planned to use the flyrcrivesud grips! Which is why I have the dog bones...crap, aren't these blade grips balls bigger than 3mm...boy, I really need to replace my calipers...i miss them dearly. So, I'm thinking I'll need extreme blade grips and swashtogrip links...am I correct in this thinking? I really don't want the metal, I'd prefer plastic but I suppose my brushless setup will null any weight concerns using metal grips. Crap...gotta go, will post solutions after I find them! John lmh...I search and found your advise on blade grips...i do have an esky set of stock grips actually...I can use those with 3mm balls and that would be one solution...then, I just need to find stock links...and they're proving difficult. The Rcvd grips actually work better since the side rails on them are thicker and will support the correct ball size when installing them. His dogbone links purely suck.
I talk to Sven quite a bit late at night. He knows his stuff. I did a comparative study on all the gears. The Skytecs were in their own class and all I run now. Even on my upcoming 450 vtail brushless flybarless dual swash build. No one who has gone the Skytec route ever comes back to complain. It is expensive stuff though!

I have two of these motors, and even if the motor itself may be good - the back mount with the single screw is crap. As a newbie, I would like to know: 1. Where can I get new shafts (I am not able to make them myself - I have seen RCTimer has many 2 mm shafts ?) and 2. How do I glue/fix the motor back permanently to the motor mount. Thank you. rj |

No one really specifically makes shafts for these motors. Best thing to do is find some 2mm piano wire at any local hs and dremel it down into the correct size. As far as the single grub mount the only thing to do here is to drill and tap another 1.5mm or 2mm counter thrust grub screw or bolt to force it to stay flat in the mount. Some guys report success with using loctite red or green inside the mount to fuse the motor into the motor hub. But if you get the motor hot it will melt the loctite.
