Default Aurora 9 and HTS telemetry sensor station

Hi
I hope you can help?
Aurora 9 updated to 1.07, Optima 9 and spectra 2.4 updated to 2.0
The telemetry sensor is getting power from channel 8 and is flashing blue, Data cable is linked from the data port to the side of the optima 9 (data) and Im powering the optima 9 via a lipo thorugh the battery/ch9 and a separate NiMH through the SPC...but the aurora 9 comes up with sensor is not connected.

Any ideas please...have I got it wired up wrong as all my updates have been applied?

Cheers
Paul

Silly thought, but before entering the Aurora [sensor] menu and hitting the reset, double check the data cable has not been inserted incorrectly into the data port - the edges on one side are chamfered to match the slot but could possibly be forced in upside down.

Meantime to add to your collection:
Hitec - New Products Ihobby Oct 2010 - Display Photos, includes Telemetry & Voice Communication System. Yes, Talks To You, (ear/headphone socket also) and reads off your telemetry info so you don't have to look at the screen. Pictures of telemetry items attached.

Hi Alan
Ive tried updating all the firmware on my kit agian (1.07 and 2.0) and yes, the data lead has been checked and I can confirm it is the correct way.
The blue light is still flashing but the Aurora still says Sensors not connected.
Any ideas?
Sorry for being dumb here but you mentioned the sensor 'reset' "Aurora [sensor] menu and hitting the reset"...how do I do that?

Thanks again
Paul

Sorry, away from shed (& model) for a few days and thus unable to view/test. I note my previous post on other thread was removed, presumably becaue user may not be able to access that screen until a "connection" is made.
Please email/phone Hitec Warranty & Service direct.
regards
Alan

After thought, please check enhanced connection diagram - attached.
Pictures of Optima attached show lead from HPP-22 (S)-(P)-(-) but note lead from HTS-SS has Positive & Signal leads transposed (P-)-(S)-(-)
as per copies attached. Please check power cable is inserted.

regards
Alan

Thanks for taking the time to help with this Alan.

I'll try that approach and let you know how it goes.

Paul

Addition: Ive just noticed that wires on my optical RPM sensor connector, that goes into my HTS is ordered red-black-yellow which is another combination so have Hitec been playing with my wiring :-)

Hi
Thanks for the pictures Alan
My data connector into the receiver was ordered red-yellow-black and not yellow-red-black as per your picture.
I swapped them around and I still can't get anywhere so I've included the pics from my setup.

Using CH8 from Optima 9 into the HTS power. Ive got black-red-yellow (L-R) looking at the HTS and yellow-red-black (L-R) looking down on the Optima
Data cable from HTS to Optima 9 as pictured.
My Lipo is connected into BAT/CH9 and I have a NiMH into SPC

I have a gps sensor and a Temp sensor so should I see something immediately on the Aurora 9?

Thanks Again
Paul

Please refer amendment to post #6 with extra picture, original pics showed wiring from HPP-22 which have just discovered is in fact different from standard on the HTS-SS.
Any inconvenience is regretted.
Alan.

Hey glad it's working just got mine and I have a question. First off I have a 600nsp with a optima 7 reciever and currently all 7 channels are in use. Now the power wire coming off the HTS I notice has a signal wire, is that wire being used or can I just use my channel 7 which only has gyro signal on no power wires in it to supply power to my HTS?

The HTS-SS power lead can be "Y" with any port on the servo bus.

Default telemetry wiring

seems to me the wiring between the sensor station and the reciever data ports (as to color) would not matter as long as both ends of the wiring were the same order.

Perhaps a matter of interpretation of the above statement.
To clarify, the ends of the wiring are not in the same order as a normal lead.
Power lead has Male plugs both ends.
Both Wired (S) - (P) - (N)
Data Cable wired usual
(S) - (P) - (N) at Sensor Port
is Cross Wired
(P) - (S) - (N) at Transceiver port
as per attached pictures.

Default HTS-SS power port

Hi all, Can I remove the signal wire from the power port on the HTS-SS?
I currently have it plugged into channel 9, but I have 9 mixed with another channel. Dos this even matter? It seems that Data come from the Data port and the power to the HTS-SS comes fro, whatever channel you plug it into.

Never mind. I saw the post above just now. I think I'll "Y" it then so I don't lose the channel.

I love my Aurora 9 Will never change it. It's good enough for David Windenstol it's good enough for me.
