Default Best flight times outdoors from the "small" Blade birds.

I currently use my Ncpx and mcpx outdoors. I don't do 3d, just relaxing circuits, banked turns, etc. However, the four minute flight times are a bummer. I get 6 minutes on my 120sr, but it doesn't like the outdoors.

Anyone with the 130 or even the new 200 care to comment on what kind of non-3d flight times you're getting? Any other suggestions for extending flight times?

I am getting an easy 8 minutes out of my 200 SRX - no setup time included. I know that because that's when my Radio Timer advises me that its time to shut her down. I'm pretty sure it could fly another 2 minutes or so on the kind of lazy circuits that you describe - which is the same way that I fly. I would not fly 3D even if my heli could.

Cheers!

Update on my previous post for you. I flew my 200SRX in Safe "Experienced" mode in a 5 mph wind for a full 15 minutes (Timed) doing lazy circuits around my farm field, some fairly fast runs down the field and back, and some hovering just to test my ability to hold position in the wind. ZERO FANCY STUFF - not even fast accel or braking.

I had planned to shut it down when I could notice a drop in power. But that didn't happen. I could have probably gone longer than 15 minutes. I just chickened out at 15 minutes because I didn't want to damage my battery or do a hard landing and damage my bird.

To say the least, I am VERY impressed.

I hope that helps. As the saying goes, "your mileage may vary".

Cheers!

Wow, I'm assuming that is with the stock battery?

I did 8 minutes or hard flying and walked the 200SRX back to my car at the park for another 2 minutes. This was with an SR battery, 1000mAh instead of 800(stock).

If you were flying very easy just cruising, or just hovering, you might get 30 mintues?

Well I picked one up yesterday. Went with the stock 8:00min timer, definitely no problem with that flight time. It's a really stable bird, and I really enjoy the air time. Can't wait for a larger battery and 15+ minute flights!

Great choice, I came late to this party, but would have recommended that bird as well.

Enjoy!

I should mention that I ran two packs. My initial pack was more of a getting acquainted pack, hovering and slow circuits. I put 360mah back into that pack upon recharge. My second pack was some quicker circuits in some pretty good wind. That pack recharged with 430mah. Both flown for 8:00min.

Obviously you don't want to drain you batteries all the way to cutoff, but 10 to 12 minutes on an 800mah pack seems pretty safe for the 200srx.
