Default Scorpion 4535-550 Masterpiece Edition

Hmmmm.

I like the power, the winding, the price but not the weight. What do you guys think?

I think, there is a much shorter word for this this.
but these specials - this part you forgot in your description! - are mostly only single pieces.
this will be the maximum possible limitation.
you can ask slowflyworld for their flat wire - it has a bit more of coppersquare.
and of weight also - unfortunally is copper a heavy element.

about weight:
the difference in motor weight will be smaller than the difference in battery weight.

in fact, if you want to use this motor for speed it's a very good choice with 14S to 16S battery.
also in suzi laos, goblin 700 and tdr it workes really fine also with 12S I heared from some pilots.

if you want to do lightweight 3D there are better solutions thinkable.

and never forget: a lot of mothers have nice daughters.

Nice motor, but I already bought a 4530 for my Banshee. I like the advantage to use the 4530 in combination with a helijive. So I don't need a Kosmik.

vinger,

the very first HK 4535 with 4+4x1,8 YY I winded about one year ago - now it is just serial.

think: the better is the natural enemy of the good.
and time is running - everytime when you think, there is no room for improvement anymore will come an improvement soon later.

Anybody want an unused 4535-550? Just kidding. I think the non masterpiece version will suffice. 6500-13000 vs 6700-13400 Continuos and peak watts are not a big enough difference to drop another $500. Not in my case at least.

Plus the 4540 should handle any speed duels that I find myself in

Yeah, I got my 4540 Signature for this application, though the 13400W max peak is probably within the Banshee limits and the 4540 who knows what peak might not be.

Ralph, you mean they are using this exact motor on 14S and 16S? With 550kv?

banshee used in FAI world record flight no 4535 but a 5035 "evo" with n spec. 550/V and as backup "secret weapon" a 4540 with 4+3 turns and also 550/V on 16S.

there is running a speed tdr with 14S and exact this motor.
also diablo with 14S as far as I know.
and also a goblin, but with only 12S.

Ralph, the 5035 is it rewinded version of the motor in attached pic or different magnets etc.? in other words can I rewind my own motor to same spec as the record holding machine with this motor? Would like to have something a little different than all these guys running the special scorpions, you know that"feeling" of your own handwork!. Btw my dog cage is coming along quite nicely

glad to find you here - so you arn't sent to the dog house.

no, you can't do it.
another shape, another magnets.
the magnetic circle is improved to the level of 45xx or a bit higher.
there are less than 5 prototypes running so far.
and 2 of them with 0,1mm plates (one in georges logo exxtreme, one into my harpyie speeder)

in summ a completely another motor but in the same housing.

can someone convince me it's significantly better than the 4540 LE ? I'd love to buy one but really can't justify it !!

Define better John. It is a bit less extreme for everyday flying. 6700W constant vs 10000W. And 70gr lighter. Still to me it's too big for 3D, maybe for a speed setup that doesn't push everything so much.
