Default improved autorotations with new OWB?

For those with new OWB, does it autorotate noticable better? I'm having a hard time with my autorotations on my Goblin. I'm sure it's 85% me, but anything helps

For sure it's better. I noticed an improvement. It seems on par with my 700e now.

Good news in that it autorotates better now then, bad news in that I cant blame the helicopter anymore. Autorotations are kicking my ass and killing my helicopters at this point. Another set of main blades, tail blades, torque tubes and gears in order for my 600EFL after last nights flight

First time i autoed on the first batch goblin with the brass bushing and the stock 175G blades i almost crashed! LOL

Will try again now mine has new auto gear! Still 175g blades are a bit light in my book, they should have made them 185-195g

Got a pair of Edge 693mm SE, they are 199grams. Might try those and see how they compare

Yes, heavier blades are better for auto's. They store more energy.

For example : My gasser can hang for 3-4 secs. easy, after flaring, with 230 gr blades.
With 175-180 gr. (can't remember exactly), it's pretty much just enough to land.

It's a little heavier than the Goblin, at 6,5 kg.

Do you run symm. pitch in th. hold?
Setting pitch under mid-stick from 0-6 degrees will help in that it will be easier to find the sweet spot. Pitch will be less sensitive under mid-stick.

Funny how so many ppl argued with me a couple months ago when I said the goblin lacked in the autorotation department. I guess it takes a new upgrade release for some to understand the obvious. (2+2=4) This is one of the reasons why it's become a little hard to find honest opinions about a product.

I did not argue. I think I agreed. Still did fine aerobatic autorotations, but had a bit less at the end. The head is much "freer " now which gives it that last moment of energy which can be essential. ;-)

OTS I never mentioned you my friend. But as you know many did disagree with us. I haven't had the chance to order a new owb hopefully when they get back in stock i can get one. Seems promising.

Who autos a heli !!?!? I seem to have gotten a good OWB on my original kit as my blades turn forever (unlike paul and snemi's machines), shame I don't auto.

(-:

I think the new steel pinion helped as well. The mesh is much smoother which matters in the goblin since the owb is in the first stage.
