Default Lipos for 700E, What are the options?

I like cheap, I'm aware of Zippy/Turnigy, but, I want to know what other options are other than 2 x 6s5000?

I am looking for 5min+ flight times for sport and mild-3D and may run the model as flybarless.

I run the 4000mAh Turnigy's (30/40C) in my bird and love the weight savings over the 5000mAh because I can still get 6-7 minutes of moderate 3D and stay within the 80% rule (I typically only fly for 5min tho). And they're quite a bit cheaper than the 5000mAh's as well.

I want to try this setup as well. I like the lighter flying bird. I am currently using some 4270mah 18C Enerlands. It actually flies quite well on these but is a monster with higher C batts. I'm a bit worried about buying Hobby City batts again though since I bought 6 Turnigy Batts and they all puffed on me in a very short time. I will probably wait and get them from Hobby Partz. At least they are in the US.

I am stuck on the Turnigys... I use 6s 5000 40c, at 5:30 I only put back in 2950mah and I am at 2100 head speed .

These things in my opinion also get better the more you use them.

Agreed. That's what I'm getting.

I have two sets, 4500 30C and 4000 40C, all Turnigys used on the FBL 700e.

With a headspeed of 2000 on the 4500 packs, I was only down 60% after a friend did some pretty sweet stick flickin' 3D for 5 minutes. I'm usually only down 50% but he flies harder than I do. On the 4000's I normally end up down 60% after a 5 minute timer.

I turned the headspeed down to 1750 or so in normal mode using the 4000's, and cruised around in figure eights, occasionally popping up to 1850 headspeed in idle 1 to do a loops/rolls and some flips, then back to normal for more cruising and I got about a TWELVE MINUTE flight and (barely) reached the 80% drain mark. For this flight I kept a lipo fuel gauge plugged into the balance port of one of the packs and came down once in a while to check it. When the green lights went away, I set her down to see +8 minutes over my 4 minute timer.

I would say just get some and just try 'em out. It all depends on your setup/flying style/headspeed/heli weight, etc... etc... etc...

I have had great results staying with the light weight packs. I didn't want the 5000 pigs in my heli.

I'm looking at the Turnigy 6s4000 30C, with shipping they equate to $71.14ea x 2 = $142.27

shipping on a pair of these is $27.97 cheapest way.

Yep. Those are the ones I'm flying. Love 'em.

(And to think, I was spending about $130-140 for ONE 6S 2600 Outrage pack for my 500 a year or so ago!)

I am using Zippy Flightmax 5000s and get 5 min hard, 6 min intermediate and 7 min soft flying. Good punch too, they are 40C. So far 20 flights on 2 pair of packs each and strong, not puffed, no cell imbalance.

I can`t wait for the New 700E Combo...
I have already a question about the 2x 6S Lipos.

I use Zippy Flightmax 6S 5000mAh 30C Lipos in my T-Rex 600 and they are really good.

Know i`m looking about the right Lipos for my new 700E Rex.
Whats about those two from HK?

Flightmax 6S 5000mAh 40C 834g
or
Flightmax 6S 5800mAh 30C 838g (Do they fit in the Rex 700E???)

Is it for the 700E better to have at least 30C or more or it would be no problem with the new 5800mAh Lipos with 30C instead of 40C?

Or when i start with 3D now do i`m really need 40C?

Thanks for your help

Even 25C lipo is enough, 30C or more is good.

I ask me the same thing but they are not really bigger than the 5000mAh...
I fly the Rex 600 with the Flightmax 6S 5000mAh 30C (146x53x53mm) and with those there are no Problem to fit in....
So one side from those Lipos is under 53mm from my 600er Lipos. So it should really work with the 5800mAh...

Zippy Flightmax
Capacity: 5000mAh
Discharge: 40C Constant / 50C Burst
Weight: 834g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 153 x 51 x 53mm

Turnigy
Capacity: 5000mAh
Discharge: 40C / 50C (10Sec)
Weight: 836g
Pack Size: 150 x 49 x 52mm

Flightmax
Capacity: 5800mAh
Discharge: 30C Constant / 40C Burst
Weight: 838g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 149 x 49 x 56mm

3800 would be the smallest I'd use.

Bringing up an old thread. Looking at getting into a 700e, and are these still a good choice?

ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 6S1P 40C

There are many threads on here about those lipos comparing them to all other brands. They will get you going good. Not to say that you wouldnt notice a performance difference in a pair of thunder powers, because they are a better battery. But, unless your a hardcore 3d guy you probably dont need that difference. And for the price, you can literally buy three sets of turnigy/zippys for the same price as one set of thunder power lipos. So even if they only got 40 flights each they still have a really good cost per flight value. Hope this helps
