Default DFC Head vibrating like crazy

Anybody have any experience with the DFC head install. I swapped an RJX head for the DFC head same exact Beastx settings and it wobbles and vibrates like hell. I turned the gain down substantially but no help. I installed the two shims the come with the dampers kit. I also noticed the out of the box dampers sort of loose around the shaft. I upped the head speed during the maiden still no good. Any thoughts?

Hello,

I also want a dfc on my 450, but when I read these posts I begin to hesitate.
what's wrong people, is there something wrong during installation or the parts are not good?

Who flies currently the dfc head, and has no problems with it?
who can give good advice

Danny

I swapped out my Tarot FBL head for the DFC head Saturday. No issues at all, much smoother than the Tarot, easier to setup 0 pitch, etc.

Running BeastX on mine as well, full specs in sig.

I don't have an accurate assessment of my headspeed. I'm running my TC at 80-77.5-75-77.5-80, and it sounds scary enough at that speed. Headspeed calculators for 100% TC give me this:

(calculated for 100% throttle curve)
Hover RPM at beginning of flight: 3802
Hover RPM at middle of flight: 3502
Hover RPM at end of flight: 3380

From this doc: http://innov8tivedesigns.com/Softwar...HeliMotors.pdf

HK-2221-6 with an 11 tooth pinion, providing a head speed of around 3400 RPM: This will get you all the
power that most helicopters can handle, and will allow for any type of 3D flying out there.

Does your head appear to teeter on the shaft? Did you use the shims inside the grips behind the inner thrust bearing race?

No, the head is rock solid, no play in the grips or the fitting on the shaft.

I used spacers in the grips, exactly as the instructions say and the spacers against the dampers that came in the DFC kit.

I am not an expert by any means, this is my first DFC head, and my only T-Rex 450. All I know is what works for me.

Do you have to redo the setup of the BeastX, and then, in particular, the six degrees blue

I didn't redo any part of the beastx setup after installing the DFC head. All I had to do was lengthen the servo to swash linkages.

I went through the BeastX menu J and had blue at 6 degrees. I also double checked my collective range (K).

if the head is loose on the main shaft then there is your problem...
send it back for replacement...it should not be loose
