Default Helimotor in plane

Can a helimotor be used to power a plane? I was thinking of using one of my Trex 450 (Align 450M) motors in T28D Trojan Foamie

A 3500Kv motor on a trojan? You know the stock one is 960Kv?

Gonna use a gearbox?

How are you gonna mount it?

MIGHT work better for a fast flying wing. But a 'trainer' probably wouldn't like that motor.

Thanks. Did not realize there was that much difference in the power.

Hold up there, buddy. I never said anything about 'power'.

Kv is basicly RPM's per volt.

Kv doesn't really tell you how much power you get out of it.....just how fast it spins from a certain voltage.

I won't lie....it's often very confusing.

I've seen plenty of scorpion 4035-560 motors in medium-sized planes. You just have to be mindful of the Kv rating of the motor.
