If you were able to buy a 2nd motor for the TDR just for the extra speed and power which one would be?
Keep in mind,I use 65C 5000mAh Batts.

a. 4530-540LE
b.4525-520LE
c.4525-520LE Ultimate

So the 4525 Ultimate should be a good powerhouse motor that the Jive likes ?

These motors have monster torque and twist the frames. Also i want to find better washers for the motor mount bolts, even the radix tail spacers after using them once, the 2nd time they mushroom in.
I made a carbon fiber plate that covers both screws on each side of the motor mount, about 12mm wide. Then use 3mm longer bolts with cup washers, never had a problem since.

+1 to what HC said... Get it if you can find it. From what Scorpion said, only 100 were made. So I guess that would make it a true "limited edition" and not an "LE" (like the Align kind of "LE")...

And between this 4530LE and a PowerCroco rewound 4530 5+4YY x1.7mm approx 580kv used for a record 166mph??

Isn't the 4530 still usable as a normal motor and the Croco exclusively for speed?

Wow, I stand corrected -- so Scorpion *does* mean "Limited Edition" in the same way as Align does...(!)

I guess if they named/advertised the product truthfully, it would be called "4530 NRLE" -- as in "(Not Really) Limited Edition" and I guess they wouldn't sell as many units... Maybe.

Neither of those. I would get a custom wound 4035 (5T+6T 1.4mm YY). Very powerful motor that runs cool with plenty of power for speed. I've tried my best to bog my croco 4035 in 3D with no luck yet.

The bigger motors shine at lower rpms (due to torque) and speed runs (delivering high power for long(er) periods). For 3D, the 4035 certainly does the trick When delivering the same power, the 4035 will always get hotter than a 45xx as the efficiency is nearly the same (at least if custom wound) but the mass is lower.
Having tested all kind of different motors in my TDR, I would say the 4525 is the "sweet spot" for the power hungry all-purpose flyer. More than that only makes sense in a dedicated speed machine.

I think I probably should maiden my first TDR with its Pyro before I get power hungry

Jan says it should satisfy 90% of the pilots out there, I may be one of them.

I second that... Pyro has lots of power with low weight. With a light setup and 1800 to 1900 you have some really great performance with decent flight times and without the need for super-expensive batteries... don't take the power route, it just costs money, flight time and increases maintenance cycles...

Friends I got my 4530-540LE today.....

I followed the posts and got the shims that HC proposed.

But one question that I have to ask.

My motor cables are Red-Blue-Yellow while G-Bru's are all Blue on the other
hand CNCjunkie's cables are all White.

Am I missing smthng?
By the way I got #133

P.S:I tried after 30 flights ,this weekend the Pyro with 14th instead of 13th and 50-65% the HeliJive instead of 65-85%and it rocked for 7min max time but the temps from 20C went to 45C (env temp 20C)
So I will try it for some more flights since the 14th are better and give 7min flights with the Pyro

The color doesn't matter.
They probably take what they have in stock . . .
