AMA equivalent in Germany
Guten Tag,
Does anyone know what the equivalent organization of the Academy of Model Aeronautics is in Germany? Are RC heli pilots required to be a member of any organization in order to fly at sanctioned events in Germany? Vielen Dank. Mark

Hi Mark,
although I am from Austria I do know the regulations in Germany: As a pilot of RC-Helis you don´t have to be in an organisation like the AMA. You need an (RC-Heli-Modell-) insurance and your RC-Heli is not allowed to be over 5KG of weight. You are free to become a member (or guest) of a "Modell-Flying-Club" and fly on their ground or you can do "wild flying": everywhere where you have enough, free and safe airspace where you don´t disturb anyone else or where is no potential (high) risk of hurting someone else. But reqirement is always a proper insurance, here are the two biggest: DMO http://www.deutsche-modellsport-orga...cherungen.html DMFV http://dmfv.aero/mitgliedschaft/downloads/ (Versicherungen im DMFV)

Mark,

What about DMO?
What about a good insurance for Germany? I heared the DMO is good, just also found this one https://versichertedrohne.de/ But really not sure about it. I think DMO is cheaper. What do you think ?

Servus Sascha,
