No. It should be orange/yellow. Some how you have your gain set to low and its triggering your CR.

Flys great I adjusted the head gain and the LED changed to Orange. Not sure what to do next. The setup video I watched said to create another profile on my radio. And that's where I get lost on setting this up.

I never set up another profile. Use the sticky to fine tune and make adjustments as needed.

I have the head gain assigned on one of the knobs on my 10fg. I thought I can save the head gain values on the PC so I can unassigned the knob. Not sure how to save it because when I remove the channel 8 from the knob the LED went back to RED

I'm not sure either. That's why I just did it the old fashion way.

You need to make a note of the value from the tx of that head gain value. Go into the BD software and input that value into the headgain section. Ensure you press write, to write it to the 3SX. Unassign the knob and the 3SX will have that value held in it's memory and LED should be orange.

Thanks I figured it out. I had to go horizon tab and then write it. CR actually already saved me. I was doing piro flips and hit CR to test. 3SX did its this thing went upright but lost orientation not whether the heli was tail in or nose. I was flying it real high to make sure and no canopy.

Practice using the CR. I'm still not used to it and instinctively hit the TH low to the growing. CR would have saved me $600 had I hit it.

The 3SX can't do orientation. It will only provide self level (either upright only or level inverted or upright, whichever is closest) and a climb out. You need a full GPS capable system like the Skookum 720 or DJI Naza to do orientation or home where the heli will fly itself back to where it took off from and hover so many metres above that point. No good if a tree is in the way on the way back though!

I don't use CR that much. Not because I'm good but I suffer the fear factor too much. I advance very slowly.

I see you already have it working but here is what happened. When you unassigned the knob, the channel in you TX just went to some default value. You can't turn off channels in any radio that I know of. They all put out some effective pulse width on every channel. So maybe it went to zero which would give you a red LED.

yes, the 3SX has a place to put a default head gain. BUT, it is only used if there is truly no signal on the head gain channel. If you are using a full RX, you can pull the connector for the head gain input. Or, as you have discovered, the default head gain in the software is used when you assign the channel to Horizon.

I don't know where you got the idea to start a new model after you already went through setup. I don't think it says that anywhere.
