Short boom (original length) 430mm.

Stretched boom (newer FBL kit length) 480mm. Carbon frame, y pinion support, and 4mm long motor shaft + smaller pinion is needed for 470-480 blades.

Maybe if you had the higher head (Flybar conversion). If you have the low FBL head definitely not.

Flybar head converted to flybarless:

Newer "low" flybarless head:

Default 500mm mains

There's a few guys in the Protos forums if you do a search... that have run 500mm mains. Maybe even a little bigger... I'm fairly certain that they ran a longer boom than the stretch boom... changed to longer belt, etc.

I think that size would be too floaty and require too much power consumption...

I am running 480's on my stretch and no 500's would not work. As mentioned above you'd do a "super stretch". You'll run into COG issues though. My stretch is allready tailheavy because I only have 2700mah 6S Lipos.

Mine is a plastic variation btw, works just fine (for now) and many others did it before.

Default I had 480 in past, but felt the 3d was kinda slow

I felt the 480 were kinda non responsive, i had previously 475 if not wrong from switch and they were perfect, now spinning 430 but i can't get the pitch working ok, its too sensitive..

Reporting back after quite many flights with the 480 Zeals:

I went through two OWB's by now and a grinded down adapter shaft.
The plastic version without counterbearing definatly cannot hold up to 480's.
MSH does say so on their homepage though.
I just got 430 helitec blades today. I'll switch back to those.

I did like the 480's but the motor and ESC had a lot of work with them and when using the 15t pinion (the only one that can take it without OWB failure) the ESC overheats. I could've switched to carbon frame and counter bearing of course but it flies well enough with 430's meaning it is the easier way for me.

Edit: Flown the helitec 430's today. They are a keeper. I had to go up with the RPM a bit obviously but flight time seems ot be unchanged. They are a tiny bit less floaty but the headspeed is steadier. The tail is rocksolid because of stretch, KBDD tails baldes and 18t pulley.
