Hey guys, I've been away for a while -- neck deep with work.
I see that we've now started the group therapy thread! And it's all good! I can appreciate it because my wife is a mental health professional -- a licensed therapist and graduate level professor at USC (University of Southern California, for those outside of the US). I've learned from my wife that sometimes it's very good to talk about these things... I would chime in here, but I'm not up to it. I'm currently on muscle relaxants and pain killers. Why? Read on! I sure could have used all of you doctors yesterday, because I tore my vastus lateralis about 24 hours ago. For those who aren't medical professionals (I'm not), it's the muscle colored red below: Damn that hurt when it happened, BTW! Just imagine someone swinging a sledgehammer at your leg. Yes, the pain was that bad. So instead of writing something that will make no sense to anyone, including me (courtesy of Flexiril and Vicodin), I'll stop here for now. Keep flying, my friends! I will enjoy this chemically-induced (and pain-free) stupor for a little while. |

Ouch sorry to hear that Gerry!!!!
My wife is a psychologist with multiple post graduate degrees and certifications etc.. as well and she is great to talk about things with. She also occassionally makes a comment when she thinks I'm starting to obsess a bit too much. I find she is a great at helping me stay centered and happier in general. FWIW, I recently purchased a Tempurpedic Allura mattress set because I would go to bed feeling fine and would wake up with back pain caused by out traditional bed breaking down. The tempurpedic is very nice. I highly recommend it! The Tempurpedic bed is great at not putting pressure on sore spots too. Gerry it would appear that we both married our own personal support group! Get better soon!

This is getting a bit too scary guys....
It is starting to appear that we have a LOT more in common than our love of helis... I wonder what other natural inclinations we all share....

My wife's emphasis is child psychology and I frequently joke that she understands me perfectly Now I'm going to join her out in the screen room, read a bit, drink a little wine and maybe spin up a heli or two. I might time the flying to occur before the wine

This is getting creepy. My wife is a Nephrology PA and also has a Psych degree. I'm the odd ball still... BS in Physics and Math, Masters in Joint Warfare. I break things, she fixes things
Hope your leg feels better. I recently tore the labrum in my right shoulder. I hate feeling broken.

So, if I keep flying TDRs I'll marry a nurse, psychiatrist or become a neurosurgeon?

I think you need a Diabolo for that too! My gf is a pharmacist but since I have no plans (or funds) to support a Diabolo it seems I'm not getting married anytime soon

Continuing the medical theme...
I"m a paramedic (technically a stay at home dad now, but was in EMS for 16 years prior), but married a Elementary School Principal... I think I got it backwards... Joe_Breezy
