Default My Dad flies the Chaos 450 Pro for the first time. Never flown a collective pitch

Well after a few months on the Real Flight 6 Sim and flying the Blade MCX I got my father to transition in to a Fixed Pitch FBL MsrX (the one I reviewed) a few weeks ago. He is doing great and told me he was ready for a 450 when I spook to him this week.

Well he met me up at the school parking lot tonight to watch me rock my Chaos 450’s and watch me maiden my Chaos 500. After my Great flights I watched him zip around the parking lot with his MsrX. Watching the excitement in his eyes as he flew his little bug around the parking lot.

I decided to throw some training gear on my beloved 450 (my first 450 I built in my review) and handed my father my DX7s. No trainer cord, no buddy box, just my DX7s and some encouraging words. I stepped a few feet back and watched him spool up the motor.

With 20% expo on cyclic and a flat 75% throttle curve she gently lifted right off the ground. He ended up flying almost two complete battery packs worth of tail in hover flawlessly. I even stepped in to show how the 450 can go from a tamed down lion to a all out 3D Beast with a flip of a switch.

I am very proud of my father but think I have lost my twin 450…… lol
But it’s ok. I have my new 500 to play with and a 600 on the way this week. My father is well on his way to forward flight with the Chaos 450 and with my guidance he will be doing forward circuits in no time.

Congrats! Proud of you Dad and thanks to RCA for making quality affordable R/C helicopters!

Well between my father and I we had over a total of 10+ flights on the helis today. 70degree Amazing March 17th NYS weather was Awesome!

Three more flights on the Chaos 450 Pro for my Dad today and he caved in and bought it off of me

I just bond it and reprogrammed it onto his DX6i and we are going flying for the 3rd day in a row tomorrow!!

After a 50+ hr work week a night of training my Dad was a great way to decompress!!!

Progress: My Dad and a full hover flight on his 450. He did his first full piro and forward circuit with my 500. He was also able to correct himself. I grunted and huffed a few times but continued to keep my finger on the trainer button. He also took off and landed my birds without training gear.

So Proud of his Progress!! ;D

Here are some pics from tonight.
My 500 is So stable... yet aggressive with a flip of a switch and the Edge blades take over and do their job!!

Finger on the trainer switch eh, haha. Those huffed and puff moments must have been hard to keep the switch held. lol. Glad he is doing well!
