Sad to see this happen. I was just looking at getting a Whiplash EX from Ron's. I am glad I did not purchase it. Now I need to look elsewhere. I will try Avant and hope they don't go the same way as MA.

I have been there before when Robbe USA (HUI) closed and shortly thereafter Robbe stopped production of what was then one of the best helicopters on the market. It was a while before we saw parts issues, but most people did sell off those machines. The big difference was there was never a good parts supply here in the US. They were expensive and not feasible for a dealer to stock a ton of inventory. Ron Lund did do the best job and still has parts for them today even though it has been over ten years since that happened.

As for MA parts availability- Ron Lund has parts for MA that are probably twenty plus years old and he has been stuck with them for a LONG time. Unless you have an agenda to crash a lot, I think you will probably be able to get parts for quite some time to come.

Now for the 'just released' machines- who knows what kind of parts supply they have in inventory.

It is a sad irony that Ron and Rick started that business many moons ago because they couldn't get parts easily. If I recall, they were all flying MA helicopters. Now he is probably going to be the only place to get parts... just like the old days.

Being in Canada it was hard enough to get parts when MA was in business. Now I may sell off my two airframes to someone that wants them for parts. It makes me sick that MA went down..

The website is gone, and now it looks like the facebook page is gone also.. Its like history being erased

I was late to the party but glad I had the chance to own one nonetheless. I'll try and keep her in the air as long as I can.

Good luck to all the staff at MA and hope you all move on to something new and better soon.

Jeff, it was always a pleasure to talk to you on the phone. I came to MA just lately but I am really enjoying my Whiplash turbine. I wish you all the best in the future!

well this just sucks. I have an F6 with little flight time on it. With out parts, I guess I'll have to fly it like its stolen as any crash will be a rekit w/ out parts. Her dirt nap better be worth it.

Its been a great Run MA, thanks for a fantastic bird.

Been dreaming of a whiplash gasser for ages now.. pure luck that I havent bought one yet. I got screwed once before, byying a morley f1 carbon 60 in early 2000's.. morley helicopter shut down a couple of months later. I feel sorry for all the people that have bought new helicopters from MA, and of course the employees at MA that have lost their jobs. Too bad really. :-(

Sorry to reply to this so late but I have been away for awhile and just bought some things to get back flying again and this is the first I have seen this. I have been around this hobby since 2003 and can't imagine this space without MA. Are they really gone? I just picked up Heli Pilot Magazine and it had new Whiplash 700ex on cover.

This is very, very VERY sad news!!!

When I saw the whiplash nitro, I was like I've got to have one!!!
MA will be missed, my dad used to fly X-Cell's his whole life and I grew up with them so it's really sad to know you wont see them after a couple of years from now.
What they brought to the hobby was something exceptional!!!

Well done MA for all you've achieved and good luck to you all!!
