Default AlignTrex 470LP ESC

Just about to start my build

The stock esc RCE-BL50X seems like a pain to program and adjust headspeed

I would much prefer a castle like all my other heli's and it's easy rpm programming

Anyone else running a castle on this bird ? If so what castle model ?

I'm looking at the 75amp version either lite, normal - not sure if the correct hearing information and setup is public for castles on the 470 yet ?

I put a HW50 in mine for the sole reason I wanted to use Brain gov. The stock ESC doesn't have a RPM output. Internal ESC gov is easy too if you don't want to use FBL gov.

The CcEdge50 will do the job... and if u plan to use external gov, it has the rpm wire out..

Castle CC 50 is only 50AMP, stock peaks to 70 so most likely would need the CC 75+

Nah. 50 is plenty. Stock esc is 50A. Motor peaks are not all that important. ESCs have peak ratings too.

Castle generally can handle 2x their nominal power... 50A constant, 100A peak...

The #1 choice for this size heli (360/380) is 50-60A ESC.

Put a 60a hw v4 on my 470. Fits much better than stock and much easier to program. The fitment was the worst part of the stock esc.
