Default Video of my Aurora

Had a boom strike with my Aurora over the weekend. Pretty much trashed the heli. Anyway figured I'd share the video.

It's pretty bad. I'm not sure if I'm going to or not yet. I think one of the links broke in the head in flight. Its hard to tell now though because everything is such a mess.

Well f**k dude!

I just might cry!

I know the feeling, it's hard to go through the heli aftermath. Some times I just set it aside and do something else until I am ready to deal with it.

Really nice flying though man, hope that helps a bit.

Definitely looked like a boom strike. Just start at the head and work your way down. Root cause is pretty sure to be a bad damper. How many flights on those puppies?

Thanks for the nice comments. I probably have close to 100 flights on it. I really think the one link at the head broke allowing the blade grip to flip and cause the boom strike. I'll post some pics of the carcass later but you can see it broke the metal link right off of the one blade grip.

Sorry to see that happened to you. That was some nice flying. Hope you can get back in the sky soon!

These boom strikes are scarey in teh Aurora or any heli for that matter, but seems there have been more than just a couple to chaulk it up to just coincidence.

Finally got some pics of the carcass in my gallery. It looks much worse in person. Anyway if you want to check them out herre they are.

It doesn't look THAT bad... did most of the head survive?

No the head is bent and if you look closely it ripped the linkages right off the blade grips and you cant see it but it bent the flybar carrier. The frames are both cracked on each side by the battery tray. I tried but it wouldn't really photograph well.

Did you have the hard dampener on the inside or outside of the feathering shaft?
