Default Scorpion HK-4525-520KV LTD

Just pre-ordered 2 of these for my TDRs:

http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalo...5/HK_4525_520/

Somewhat heavier than the Pyro, but 50% more power... - should be fun.

Not sure what I am going to do with all that power , but it has to be good for a giggle

Let the waiting begin

Nice one... i will stick to Pyro for now, but next year - X-Era, Neu or Scorpion (my preference is in that order now).
Will see what will be available.
Let us know how it performs when you get it.

I'm curious why $45.00 is added to my total even though it says free shipping. It doesn't matter which shipping option I choose.

Seems wierd, I just tried it out again and it works fine.

It's my zip code. I tried a CA zip and the 45 was not added. Now why would it cost more to ship to HI than to CA from Hong Kong? I sent Scorpion an email, so I guess I'll have to wait for a response.

You guys, this is like the 4225-610 understand these are all hand done, and inspected in a much more critical manner then the standard scorpions. As mentioned with this particular winding technique and size of wiring in order to get the perfect product they are very time consuming to produce. I remember the waiting on the development and the time/price on the 610s and it was stated from Georges their production time was easily 6x longer to make one of those versus a 4035-560 etc for example...

I have no doubt this should be a great motor given the fact they been working on its' final design and testing for over 6 months now on it.

They produce 1 - 2 per day from what I've read in the development thread about the 45xx-series. Someone who doesn't know about how to wind such a motor by hand can't image what effort it takes. Performance is more than most will need and I don't think that a Pyro should even be mentioned. That's totally different performance league...
Just check-out results from the last speed-events in Germany and how many of the pilots didn't use a custom motor there.
-klaus

Btw. those were made and tested with PowerJive

Well, it wasn't long for the reply, same day to be exact. First reply was from Perry and another from Richard. To make a short story even shorter, they are going to tweak the system for me so my zip code does not invoke the $45.00 shipping charge. (It was a DHL - UPS classification for my zip code being a remote location) I was going to use the zip code for my house in Sacramento, but now I can have the motor delivered right to my door. And they reserved my motor for me while the changes are being made.

Now that's outstanding customer service in my book!

Way to go Scorpion! Thanks Perry and Richard!

1800 seams to be enough for 200kmh. Of course the top values were reached with much more. I read something about 2300 which Jan used at his first record. But common sense in a German thread was that around 1800 is enough for 200 with a good technique...
Here's a link to a posting Jan made:
German: http://www.rc-heli.de/board/showpost...24&postcount=1
Translation: http://translate.google.at/translate...6postcount%3D1
Resume was that high head-speeds don't really increase speed...

Any news on this motor? It’s a month down the line, but the backorder still reads 60 days.
Received my new TDR from Jan and just need a motor, after waiting a month for the Jive120HV to be available. With the Pyro700-52 also backordered and Patrick no longer carrying the Neu 1917 there’s not a lot to choose from.

From my fairly reliable source I hear they should be getting sent out the first week in November, just don't quote me on that

For those that mounted the 700MX motor, did it need the pinion to be countersunk or does it fit straight in?

Got the 14t pinion from Jan and I see that mine came countersunk – maybe it was specifically for the Scorpion?

Yes - it does need to be counter sunk for the 700 mx.

Just received shipping notice that my 2 motors (with serial #2 and #3 ) have been shipped from Hong Kong.
Since I am pretty close to HK, I am guessing I will be giving these babies a wringing this weekend...
