Default Help with Align Fuselage

I just got an airwolf fuse for my Trex 500, the mounting screws are too short to bolt down the heli inside the fuselage. The floor inside the fuselage is also uneven with a hump in the middle from the lamination process. I was thinking of using a layer of dense foam underneath the wood blocks and just using some larger self tapping screws threaded up from the bottom. Before I do this, please give some advice on what you did. Thanks.

Why not Dremel out a small bit of the block to clear the hump and clean up the seam a bit also? You'll need to judge just how much material to take off without weakening it. Any decent hardware store should have longer bolts you can buy. These fuses always need to be modded a bit. That's just the nature of the beast when it comes to doing scale. My Apache,Hughes 500 and Agusta 109 all required a bunch of head scratching and mods. That's what makes it interesting.

Great answer! I just happen to have a dremel and have no problem using it, I think I will just mod the blocks though. I will post pics when I get it done!

Cool glad I could help. Every problem has a solution. Some just more obvious than others.
