Motor mixing (brushless/brushed) question

I've recently gotten back into helicopters after being out of the hobby for a few years. Before I stopped, I was using a Hummingbird Elite FP, brushed motors throughout. I had a Himax brushless motor (HA2015-4100) and Castle Creations Phoenix 10 ESC that were waiting to be put in, but I never got around to it...

Fast forward a few years, after pulling it back out of the box (and not having to use ni-mh, lol), I had to reenter the hobby.

To better explain my situation:

when I first got this helicopter, it was set up with the brushed main motor and brushed tail motor hooked into the hummingbird mixer board...

Now that I've got a brushless main motor and esc for it (the brushless motor), I'm not sure how to get the brushless motor/esc to work with the brushed tail motor.

My question: how would I hook up the brushed tail ESC/motor since the brushless ESC/motor is now taking it's old spot on the reciever? Also, I can't figure where the mixer board fits into the equation. Seems I'm missing something...

All this time away from heli's has made me pretty clueless, lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, if I've left out some info that may help in answering my question, let me know

I'm not familiar with the electronic setup of this bird, but when I went brushless main with my Axe CP I did it when upgrading to a Futaba radio, bypassing the reciever and mixing board of the Axe.

If the hummingbird is like the Axe then it has a reciever that controls servo's and also sends signals to a speed control/gyro board that sends power to the main and tail motors.

If this is the case then I would leave everything connected as is, but put in a Y harness to send main motor control to the amp board as well as to your new brushless ESC. Then just leave the brushed main motor wires unconnected.

That is if you really want to do this. If it were me, knowing what I know now, I would just leave it alone, not worth the hassle.

If I'm missing something, let me know.

I have been flying a Axe CP 2.4 / 350 size for a year now and way underpowered specially in the wind. I have purchased a 40 size brushless motor with brushless ESC and done much research and found that ICEBERG has the same answer I have been searching for. Have to run 2 ESC's. original for the brushed tail motor and new brushless ESC for the brushless main motor. By the way I have upgraded all the electronics in the Axe CP with walkera master CP components including the brushed tail motor. I'll try and add a link to my youtube vid.
