I got to have another close look at the Faifa today and notice that the heli appears to be designed around a Kontronic ESC and full size vbar..
Ive read some of the faifa owners setups to get an idea of what people are using i see some are using the new Scorpion 130 ESC and CC 120. Do these fit in the ESC space or are the mounted elsewhere? The gyro mount (rear) is perfect for just a sensor i.e. full size vbar or cgy750, but for something a bit bigger like SK540 there is a bit of over hang and would look wrong.. Are there any bigger gyro mounts available.. Also, slightly off topic, does the standard kits come with the 'low rider' head? or is that considered an upgrade? |

I did have a cc120 between the frames, had to loosen some bolts to get it in then re- tighten. Pretty tight fit though. Also used a cc160, no chance there. Dont know about the scorp. Now using a Kontronic 120 which of course fits like a glove, as does the vbar.
AFAIK there is only one size gyro mount, and the LR head is an upgrade only part, I dont think they come with the kits. Very much worth getting tho.

Thanks for your replies..
Dam, i hate having to my upgrade parts with a new kit.. I would have thought it would have just been made standard in the kit.. Obviously not... I was thinking either CC HV120 or YGE 120.. I think the YGE is a safer option but i dont particularly want to dremel the frames... I take it you enlarged the ESC opening to the size of the YGE? It fits between the frames ok ? |

I'll take few pictures of my FAIFA later and post it here. About 30 flights after mounting heatsink and no problem!

Hello again!
Here are pics of my YGE 120HV w/heatsink. ![]() ![]() ![]() Dremeled bottom and top - bottom is pretty good, but on the top there wasn't enough material to do it straight... So it is how it is, but it's working good!

That looks very neat and tidy.. I really dont want to spend all that money on a jive.. I know they are a great ESC but i think a bit overpriced.... I think the YGE with your mod is a very good compromise... Thanks for sharing your work!! |

CC 120 HV fits no problem. A little tight, maybe have to loosen the frames at the front to get it in, but once in frames tighten up and fits nice in the cutout.
Great to here you finally bought the Faifa. Love my Faifa's, I have three. Nothing wears out, great quality. Tracks excellent, fast, and arguably one of the best autoing heli's out ther due to the very efficient drive train. |
