Governor always ON -- TREX-700 Nitro FBL
Dear PRO member,,
I have remote Futaba 6EX (6-Channel). All channel were occupied,, hence I fly 3D.. Thanks God,, I've additional money to buy governor RCE-G600. I have read the manual, it seems what I need to do just simply install magnet and disconnect cable from throttle servo to RX, connect RX(TH-Channel) to input RCE-G600, connect output RCE-G600 to throttle servo. My question is,, I don't have spare channel to switch ON/OFF my governor. Could I change it with mechanical switch....??? So then,, if I want to use my governor, ,I just simply turn ON the switch, and vice-versa... Is there any problem,, for my modification...??? Because my Friends always saying,, "buy 7CH remote or more,, for Ur good"... (I need different answer,, best solution from PRO around the world) Thanks & Regards. --MDW--TREX-700N FBL |

Unfortunately it is not just an on/off switch. The second connection is actually used to control the RPM while the governor is on. The condition for it to activate is that it sees at least 30% on the throttle channel, has a sensor reading, and the second channel sets the motor RPM to be governed.
You would need a device that sends a PWM signal not just an on/off switch. You may be able to come up with a method to duplicate the throttle channel signal to control both, but this has an exposed risk where if the governor fails (i.e. you lose a magnet etc) there will be no normal throttle curve for it to default to. |

With a gov like the GV-1 you can run it with stick switching. Meaning 1 channel. Over 20% throttle the Gov turns on, and the speeds are set by the % of your thro chan. ie 40% HS1 60% HS2 80% HS3 And I will just happen to have a GV-1 for sale here real soon. PM me if you wish.

I thought both the Aerospire and Throttle Jockey governors do not require a gain channel...they can simply be set externally, with their display in the case of Aerospire, and with a screw driver in the case of Throttle Jockey...

I think that was possible but then it was only acting as a rev limiter. I may be wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
