Default Balancing your bird?

Wonder how you all balance your birds. Full tank, 1/2? Mine is nose heavy with the 3s 2200 pack in front. Full tank and pack, its just a tad, add the canopy and well, she leans fwd lots. I have a 29g piece of aluminum strapped to my tail fin, which almost balances her with full tank.

my elec FBL ship are usually pretty close, and the FBL helps compensate. But this FB, and that the tank changes with fuel. Just wonderin what you guys do

Flybar or flybarless - I've been doing it the same way for 30 years.

Ready to fly configuration, 1/2 tank.
Hold the heli by the main blades with the mast horizontal to the ground.
The nose should hold position at all points around the "clock".

Slightly nose heavy is better that tail heavy.

Well I'm nose/Exh side heavy. So I guess its ok? Had to add about 30 grams to tail tho. Using a 3s 2200 pack up front. It's all I have right now. Packs left over from my 3s 450 after I went 6s.

Two thing:
1)
A 3S pack for the receiver? "
As the robot on "Lost in Space" used to say: "Danger!, Danger! Will Robertson"
I hope there is a Gryphon or Scot Gray Reactor HVX coupled to that battery.
Even HV servos are only rated for direct attachment to a 2S LiPo pack.
If you are using a 3S LiPo direct to HV servos, they will burn out at some point and then you crash and burn.

2)
30g to the tail, and you are still a little nose heavy?
The distance from the main mast (the desired CG point) to the tail is 3 time longer than from the main mast to the nose.
Adding 30g to the tail means you were 90g too heavy on the nose.
That is almost impossible on a properly built, stock, Trex 700N.

I would have to suggest your technique for checking the CG may be wrong, or there is something very strange about your 700N.

Unfortunately, the owners of HeliFreak get really paranoid if you post a link to another site.
But, a nice, short, description can be found by doing a Google search for "Checking CG on an RC helicopter".

There are a bunch of videos too. None are great. But, this one is short:
Checking your Center of Gravity (CG) with Nick Maxwell (0 min 50 sec)

I balanced my 700N last night.
All of my electronics are forward of the main mast:
5 servos, FBL gyro, Scott Gray Reactor HVX, Spectrum TM1000 (telemetry) and a 3300mAh 3S LiPo.
Additionally, I have a 2oz header tank that is mounted slightly forward of the main mast.
With a 1/2 fuel load (full header an 1/2 in the main) and canopy mounted, I had to add 90g to the nose.
The biggest difference on mine is I mounted an Align Speed Fuselage tail canopy. And, I am sure that adds weight behind the main mast.
But, even without the rear canopy, I would expect mine would still need a little nose weight.
Not 30g at the tail.

I am correct on my build and weight. And the 3s. It is running through a wr bec. No hv servos. And yes. I check cg correctly

Just saying that I would not expect a Trex 700N to be 90g nose heavy.
Can you share a picture of your setup? Maybe I built mine wrong.
