One way bearing lube - T-Rex 600
Can thrust bearing grease be used to lube the T-Rex 600 one way bearing?
Something like this: http://www.takeoffandland.com.au/pro...c67dd48db01fe0 Says it's for thrust bearings but perhaps it has the same characteristics required by one way bearings. I still have a small amount of the T-Rex 600 stock grease from the initial build so if the thrust grease is no good I can probably fall back on that. Tks |

thrust bearing grease in MY experience has typically been white lithium grease. NOt the same stuff in the OWB...I think that stuff looks like a silicone based stuff.

Use ATF oil. You want those little roller pins to move freely.

Yup. ATF fluid works great. I had mine locking up on occasion until I started using ATF. Since then no issues...

I prefer grease on the radials and thrust bearings. Just not on the oneway or main shaft sliders.

As others have said, ATF. Tri-Flow works great as well.

Hi All,
I (and nearly all my local buddies) have been using spray white lithium grease with great results. It's available at any local auto parts store. The best thing about it is that it really hangs in there. I have 190 flights each on my T600N and T600E and have had no problems with the one-way bearings since going with it. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...ct.do?pid=7848 I just had both of them apart for the winter and checked the one-ways. I was going to re-spray them, but when I opened them up, they were still full of grease. There was no need to re-spray, so I just put them back together. I log all my flights. I'll let you know how long it goes before it needs maintenance or has some problem. BTW, I tried ATF and had one-way lock-up two years ago when Align was having trouble with one-ways. That's why I went to lithium. Also, I found that applying ATF attracts dirt. Spray lithium doesn't seep out. Good luck with whatever you decide to use. Keep 'em flying. LJS
