Its a field program box that you can use to setup the hw esc. It also allows you to hook the esc up to the computer to make any changes to the parameters or update the firmware

Na just used the stick programing feature it only took a few minutes but the gov. instructions are confusing to me. Might have to read it some more.

The gov is VERY easy to set up. Once you get the programming done on the rest of it just go and select the gov store. Setup one of your iu switches to a throttle curve of a flat 50% curve and a pitch curve of a flat 50%. Plug up your heli w a fully charged battery, let it calibrate then put on throttle hold. Flip to you iu that you set up from above and put your left stick at middle position (just out of habit). Flip out of hold and itll spool up softly. You'll hear the rpm rise then stop and itll be a constant smooth sounding rpm. This is when you start counting. The manual says wait 11 seconds but I counted to 20 to be sure. Once you got to 20, flip to throttle hold again and unplug battery. From this point you use a tach to get the headspeed you want. Start at around 60% and work your way up. If you have to go below 60% to get the hs you want you need to drop a pinion tooth. You can go all the way up to 85% flat throttle curve in order to get good gov performance. If you go over 85% then go up a pinion tooth. Here's a post from a hobbywing rep that shows what I described.
