Default Pheonix better then Reflex?

Hi guys, is Pheonix better/more realistic than Reflex? Or is it just easier to get/get support for?

I must be doing something wrong! I keep planting helis but new ones never grow?

In my pinion, reflex is a more serious simulator and more realistic. But phoenix is not too bad as well, it has more models, more sceneries and free updates. If I would have the choice, I would go phoenix.

I own both

Cheers.

Stef.

We just picked up Phoenix the other day and I love it! It's pretty sweet flying on a brand new big 55 inch LED Samsung.
One thing I love about Phoenix is that as far as I know, it's the only flight simulator that has all the popular models and all the ones I fly. It has everything from the Eflite MCX, MSR, Trex 450, and even the Airwolf helicopter! So for me, Phoenix is best!
Not only does it have an awesome scale Airwolf helicopter, one of it's scenery is a desert-mountain like area much like Airwolf's "home".

+1 Phoniex is the sim I enjoy most - I don't think you can beat it in any department!

Phoenix may be better regarding its looks but performance wise my vote goes to the Reflex simulator.

Btw Reflex is german what else can I say ?

I have all 3 most popular ones, Realflight, Phoenix and Reflex and I have to say that reflex is most realistic. I downloaded a Trex 500 model off of here that someone made and it flies almost exactly as my heli except it is less powerful. Have to mess with the settings a bit to make it fly faster but it is very realistic as it is now.

When doing a simple piro no other sim will make the heli kind of start going off to the side a bit like in real life but Reflex does. The tail also acts very real. So far I'm liking it a lot.

I have both and would have to say as far as the simulator experience goes its almost a toss up. To me, you can barely tell the difference between the two once your in the sim environment. I think the default model physics are almost the same for both. User interface, Phoenix wins hands down. Reflex (non-ivol version) will definitely go down as one of the greatest sim, lets face it, it is about five years old and still very competitive in the sim market. Way back, at the time Reflex first came out, I tried Realflight 3.0(?) and almost laughed at how cheezy Realflight was.
I also like the fact that Phoenix automatically tells you of software and model updates and there is good support whereas Reflex has dropped to almost non-existant support and you have to search for new models off the net.
If your looking to buy, Relfex is $219 and Phoenix is $129, so it becomes a no brainer.

I have never tried the phoenix simulator, I only have Reflex XTR 5.0.3 but from my personal experience I can say that it is quite realistic, the only thing I complain from Relex is the lack of a realistic sound of blades when you change pitch and from the videos that I have seen so far of the Phoenix simulator found that the sound is really amazing.
Here is a web site where you can download lots of helis and airplane for the most popular RC flight simulators.

I too prefer Reflex XTR2. I find it is much more like flying an actual model.

I have had some challenges as the on-line support isn't much. MRC was helpful so far...

However, I just sent in a dongle to be replaced...it is a USB to mini-USB adapter which has encryption of some sort. I learned that MRC will no longer distribute Reflex. I see that Helihobby sells it, but it appears to me to be losing the popularity battle to RF and Phnx.

I have loved the models I've imported, but I think there are even more available for Phoenix. I will likely replace my Reflex with Phoenix next time it falls down.

I have all the top line sims, RF 5, AFPD, Reflex XTR 5.04 and Phoenix. I love all the models in Phoenix and the free updates and models but I would have to say that Reflex is a little more realistic in the sound and physics department.
I just purchased software update for Reflex 5.05 hoping that it is a improvement anyway.
