You'll need a flybarless head assembly (ie. swash driver, head, main grips). Also, ideally the main blades should be changed to ones designed for flybarless. I suspect you'll need a new (shorter) main shaft too.

No, stock gyro is no good. You'll need to replace with a flybarless controller. The 500X default is an AR7200BX.

I just got done doing this, all you need is main shaft,blade grips,pitch links and the anti rotation links, you can use the same swash but not the gyro. You'll need a FBL unit of your choice, I used a micro beastx. I used the orig. servos and they do get a little warm, but I don't remember how warm they were before the conversion.

If you learn to search this 500x subforum you will see lots of fbl conversion threads like this one;

Just my opinion but I would not bother with the conversion. Just continue to run it fb'd and look at another heli if you want fbl. Upgrading a discontinued heli is not such a great idea imho.

Cheers,

I will offer a counter argument.

$55.58 plus $3.08 shipping at hopmeup.com. *

How can you afford NOT to upgrade?

* B500 specific parts only. Does not include FBL controller.
