Default Mac compatibility?

Can anyone on the 'inside' give any info if the software will be Mac compatible? I've only seen Windows software so far. I've got Windows on both of my Mac's but I'd like to know if new software will be released.

Isn't it a little annoying it's so hard to find stuff for mac???

Ugh. I would love to see more native programming for the mac.....

Well, this could be handled if the front-end was re-written in Java with "Swing" or something similar. Then it would essentially even run on Linux..

Yes, well, the basics of it are this. Java applications are platform independent, meaning they will run on any OS. Now, of course, as long as you have Java installed. But, most OS systems do support Java and have the plug-ins and runtimes readily available.

Soooo, anyway, a little long winded, this would be what I would write it in so that anyone could run it no matter what the OS was they were using.

If you already haven't, just install Parallels Desktop, run it in Modality Mode or Coherence Mode and you'll soon forget about native Mac compatibility. Have your Windows only program running right on the Mac desktop without even seeing the Windows OS.

  • Coherence mode. In this mode the virtual machine's desktop is invisible so that you can see the virtual machine's application windows in Mac OS X and work with them side by side with your Mac OS X applications.
  • Modality mode. In this mode you can view the virtual machine and the programs running inside it in a transparent window while working in Mac OS X. By default, this window appears on top of all opened windows, so you can supervise your virtual machine during your work in Mac OS X.

Yes, well you must also technically have a licensed version of Windows as well to run this. And for those that only have the MAC OS, this is not a viable option. Why not just ask for a cross-platform independent program ?
